Currently sunny! But breezy, though the figures don't feel correct sometimes. We've had a few squalls but nothing unusual.....

Re: 32701 error

if you get this issues again after a windows update then just uninstall the windows update. ALso make sure you have a good restore point now, and make a cold backup too. Macrium Reflect is an excellent free backup tool much faster than Acronis. Thank you Simon - Actually I use Allway Sync Pro - and...

Re: 32701 error

you'll probably need to run the wcp script in a command prompt and see what the error is or turn on logging with winscp.com Usage: WinSCP [/script=file] [/command cmd1...] [/parameter // param1...] WinSCP [/log=<logfile> [/loglevel=<level>]] [/logsize=[<count>*]<size>] WinSCP [/xmllog=<logfile> [/x...

Re: 32701 error

Still no joy on website update. Have done a 'fresh' install of WINSCP - it didn't give a choice on where to save it, I'm sure originally I had the choice and the suggestions were to load it into the Cumulus folder? Edit: Sorted after reading through this thread : http://sandaysoft.com/forum/viewtopi...

:groan: :bash: :groan: Good job I didn't start this with much hair on my head, 'cos it's getting thinner by the second. Netbook, 9 years old, used 'til now for showing a copy of my website - last updated by Win7 2 years ago - took 18 hours to catchup with updates! WL runs and accepts the data logger...

Re: 32701 error

A wild stab... You don't have Cumulus set to automatically start in some way do you? And a copy is starting up in the background every time you start the computer? Now that's a thought, as I do have Cumulus start automatically. But looking at Task Manager, only one instance is running and only one ...

Re: 32701 error

It is possible to force Windows 7 to install an old driver by using Device Manager, right clicking on the Device and selecting properties and then the Driver tab. There you will find an Uninstall button. Do that and then do an install either forcing it to use a download copy of the old driver or se...

water01 wrote:Any chance you can roll back W7 to before the update using a System restore?

Hi David, that's actually the first ting I tried, but windows errored on attempt to roll back to any of the available restore points. There's also no rollback on the driver.

Re: 32701 error

Latest after a couple of chats with Davis agents. The first, Drew, took me through a series of tests and a download of driver from siliconlabs - Most of what we did I had already gone through, including picking up the drivers. Console shutdown, logger removed, cabled disconnected. Waited a while. Re...

Re: 32701 error

Thank you Paul - that's not the one I recall - but is equally informative.

I'll give that a go and see.

If that fails, and Davies can't help (I see they have a chat facility), I'll have to try using a laptop to at least rule out the ports on the PC.

Re: 32701 error

Aye, thanks Paul.....But who knows what the windows update did! So far, I've updated WL to the latest version. The Comms test returns "unable to find com port". It matters not what port I connect the data logger to, 1-5, it can't be discovered and windows either says it's on 4, or (as now)...

Re: 32701 error

Well, I never expected to find the disk!

The program cannot find the device - PC uses USB. Seems, perhaps the data logger has failed and perhaps the windows7 update was a red herring?

The logger is firmly seated and I've changed the lead a couple of times.
