Bad Wind Gust Data

Hi, Yesterday, I noticed my "New Record" indicator flashing and I was not happy to see a new wind gust just recorded at 245 mph. The actual wind gusts were around 37 mph. My Oregon Scientific WMR968 seems to be functioning fine now and I have never had anything like this before. It took me...

Re: Win 10, No Auto Startup

The FAQ suggests that you use Task Scheduler - http://wiki.sandaysoft.com/a/FAQ#How_do_I_make_Cumulus_run_automatically_when_Windows_starts.3F I tried that long ago, but it did not work because it ran too soon in the process before other things were ready, so I did it a different way which included...

Win 10, No Auto Startup

I just upgraded from Win 7 Pro to Win 10 Pro using Cumulus 1.9.4. I have Cumulus setup to load on startup and start minimized. This worked fine on Win 7. On Win 10, if I do not run Cumulus as "Administrator", the process starts up as a background process and no icon appears on the task bar...

Re: Degree Days, Need Help With NOAA Setup

Cumulus sets them according to the temperature unit you choose when you first run Cumulus, and it is expected that you never change units after that, or bad things happen. It won't attempt to change the figures after they have been set for the first time, unless you change them manually. Hi Steve, ...

Degree Days, Need Help With NOAA Setup

I never used degree days before, but I need them now. I found them under the NOAA reports, but they made no sense. It appears that the default values for Heating and Cooling Threshold were set to reasonable Celsius values, but were not updated when the unit of measure became F. I also don't understa...

Rain Display Error

This is another problem that should be reported, but isn't worth fixing. I shut down Cumulus and restarted it so I could get a change to take effect. After the restart, rain "Today" showed as 0.91 inches and "Last 24 hrs" showed as 0.90 inches. It is easy to understand why this h...

Sorry I missed the "enhancement section" at the top. I'll move my requests there.

Thanks,

Enhancement Requests

Hi Steve, In another thread you indicated that submitted enhancement requests would get filed away and looked at sometime in the future. I plan on starting work with MX in April when I will have the proper amount of time to dedicate to the project. Since I don't have MX now, I don't know if any of t...

YTDrainyear=2015 in Cumulus.ini

I was looking in CUMULUS.INI today (for another reason) and found the line:

YTDrainyear=2015

All of the displays look ok, but this seems a bit strange. Is there anything wrong here?

Re: Strange Humidity Calibration Results

steve wrote:A reading of 98 with the 98->100 setting in effect is first converted to 100. A multiplier of 0.776 and an offset of 22 applied to that = (100*0.776) + 22 = 77.6+22 = 99.6. Truncating gives 99.
Got it!

Re: Strange Humidity Calibration Results

The 98->100 setting affects the value before the multiplier and offset are applied. It is intended to cater for the deficiency in the station where the raw figure from the station can never be more than 98. First, let me say that I don't really care a lot about this, so I not suggesting you spend a...

Strange Humidity Calibration Results

My humidity readings are very far off from reality. Replacing the sensor with a new one didn't help much. I am now told that these Oregon sensors have a long history of inaccuracy. I'm fixing this the best I can with a combination of calibration adjustments. I have a Multiplier of 0.776 and an offse...

Re: Please donate.

I see donating as something between the donor and me. If people want to advertise the fact that they've donated, that's fine with me, but it's not something I'll be organising myself. I already maintain the user map, for anyone with a Cumulus web site, regardless of whether they have donated or not...

Re: Using Solar Panel Data

It's going to be a lot more complicated than that... Yes it is, but I should be able to get an approximation. I have 34 panels each with a separate micro-inverter. The total wattage will not vary much from things like an antenna shadow. At my latitude and South West facing, the sun is only behind t...

steve wrote:You can't, not by this method, at least. See the posts above - the SRsunshine.dat file doesn't have anything like that in it.
Any chance you would be willing to add a check for extra fields to the SRsunshine.dat file?
