Low readings of zero after startup

Hello. I have recently upgraded to Cumulus MX after a transmitter swap (the old one didn't survive the rapid warming after last month's cold spell) having previously used Cumulus 1 for 8 years. The upgrade went well and I'm loving the upgraded Cumulus but I have noticed one recurring problem in the ...

Re: Maplin N96GY base station now faulty - Suggestions Please

A very similar thing happened to my weather station earlier this month (although I'd had some early signs of impending doom almost a year ago which I managed to keep at bay by regularly clearing the base unit's memory). This month's problems started with some very odd readings being read by Cumulus ...

Re: Webtag problem

It's all working now. In the local filenames boxes I have D:\Cumulus\webcamT.txt and D:\Cumulus\webcam2T.txt whilst in the remote filenames boxes I have /cumulus/webcam.txt and /cumulus/webcam2.txt Thanks for your help everybody. Now to tackle the more serious problem which has arisen this week - I ...

Re: Webtag problem

Update - it stopped again! However, the tmptxt files appear to be updating (I MUST have seen instructions to link to those at some point) so, I've left the filenames in Cumulus as I had this morning but the software overlaying the text now takes it from the tmptxt files. I'll keep an eye on it! Kroma

Re: Webtag problem

Thank you all. Problem solved. Yes, they were local files I was dealing with and I must have followed a guide at some point to set the whole thing up. I was sure it had been working before but I'm less sure that it had been now I think about it because all I changed the other day was the folder name...

Re: Webtag problem

Hi,

The overlay is working fine but the files webcam.tmptxt etc which are updated by Cumulus aren't updating correctly. Hence the overlay shows incorrect information from these files.

Webtag problem

Hello, I've run into an issue with a text overlay for my webcam. It used to be working great but today, I noticed that a change of Cumulus host folder I made back in July (!) had stopped my webtags from working properly and so my webcam was overlaid with data from July. I changed the information in ...

Maplin in administration - where to buy spare parts now?

Hello. Maplin had always been the place to buy spare parts for my Aercus weather station. I've bought anemometers and a rain gauge but they sold other parts too - all for great prices (£2.49 for an anemometer). They are currently still trading but all the spares (other than the anemometer) are 'web ...

Re: Aercus Instruments WS1093 Rain Gauge replacement

A quick update:

I fitted the replacement rain gauge today and am happy to report that my weather station is back to full health.

I even gave the wind sensors a quick spray of oil to enable them to capture the full glory of Storm Imogen!

Thanks for your help.

Re: Aercus Instruments WS1093 Rain Gauge replacement

Thanks for the confirmation. One replacement rain gauge ordered - a bargain at £4.99. I think replacing the reed switch might be a little beyond me!

Aercus Instruments WS1093 Rain Gauge replacement

Hello, After just over a year (typical!) of sterling service, my WS1093 stopped registering rainfall. I have done the usual things - checked for spider webs/spiders/moved the tipper manually to no avail. After reading on here that I should try swapping the cables over, I managed to get the anemomete...

Ah that's fine. Having stumbled across the original message I clearly misunderstood and thought "same here". No worries :)

Re: Sizing of pages on computer

Sorry to resurrect an old topic but I have the same issue. As shown in the attached screengrab, my Cumulus is at about 3/4 screen size when maximized.

My screen resolution is 1280x1024 on Windows 7. Everything else is working ok.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,

Kroma
