Hi Steve
Yes, Cumulus is set to calculate the average speed. Do you suggest I uncheck this? The logging interval is 10 minutes.

Error in downloading wind gust from Instromet datalogger
I notice that when Cumulus downloads data from the Instromet datalogger, the maximum wind gust values are less than the average wind speed values. There is no problem when Cumulus is running live, only when it needs to download archive data. Is this a Cumulus problem, or a datalogger problem? The at...

iCumulus to Android
I have tried to search this topic on the forums, but haven't found anything. What I am looking for are some hints on how to get iCumulus working nicely on an Android device. iCumulus isn't an app, but a web interface for an iPhone. It is made up of some hmtl code, but there is some other code in the...

App for Android
I know that the information is on the forums somewhere, but I am really struggling to find it. Could somewhere point me to where I can find the complete set of instructions for setting up an Android app that takes information from Cumulus? I am really happy with the iPhone web interface, but I under...

Re: Dew Point Calculation
Thanks Steve. The difficulty is in trying to remove the dew point graph from the 'gauges' screen. I've tried to move the cloud base to where the dew point appears and delete the inside temperature and humidity graphs, but it messes everything up. Is there any easy way of selecting the graphs that ap...

Re: Dew Point Calculation
Further to the problems linked to calculating accurate values for dew point on my Instromet station, is there a way of removing dew point from the graph shown on the Trends page? Removing dew point from the other pages appears straightforward, but it would be good to remove dew point from the outsid...

Re: Dew Point Calculation
I had a good look at the dew point issue today. Decided to uncalibrate both dry and wet bulb sensors and humidity, and Cumulus returned accurate values for dew point and humidity, so clearly the code which calculates the dew point is using the uncalibrated values. Easiest solution seems to be to cal...

Re: Instromet datalogger continuing problems with download
I need to communicate with my instromet datalogger in order to calibrate the dry and wet bulb temperature sensors. I have read on here that Steve has suggested using PuTTY. This seems to be straightforward, but I do need to know how to configure PuTTY for this purpose. I know the com port and baud r...

Re: Dew Point Calculation
Sorry Steve - it's much harder than I thought. I had a look through the cumulus.exe file and, I have to be honest, I didn't know where to start looking. The code clearly isn't written as a conventional mathematical formula as I thought it might be.

Re: Dew Point Calculation
I think the easiest solution would be to apply the calibration I give to relative humidity directly into the formula used to calculate the dew point. Could you tell me Steve the name of the folder/file where the dew point formula is located. I assume it's only in the one place - cumukus.exe file? I'...

Re: Dew Point Calculation
Is there a fix? I appreciate that you no longer work on Cumulus 1, and if it is time consuming I won't worry too much. There may be a way of calibrating the sensors outside of Cumulus - I'll contact Instromet. You could calibrate the analogue display on earlier versions of the model I have, but the ...

Re: Dew Point Calculation
Hi Steve The system I have works with a wet and dry bulb sensor. I presume that the datalogger is doing the calculation for humidity as this is being displayed on the analogue display panel as well as Cumulus. However, without calibration the humidity value is always far too low. Once calibration ha...

Dew Point Calculation
I am using Cumulus 1 with an Instromet weather station. The calculation for dew point always appears too low. The extra sensor has not been ticked so that Cumulus treats the second temperature sensor as a wet bulb. Relatively humidity reads well, as does the wet bulb sensor. What could be the proble...

Removing erroneous sunshine data
If I shutdown my Instromet station and restart, Cumulus calculates an erroneous sunshine total, i.e. it does from the correct total, say 4.2 hrs, to -112 hrs. I don't mind this being a querk of the program, but the problem is I can't find a way of removing it from the graph showing sunshine hours. C...

Wet Bulb Calibration
I can't seem to get the wet bulb calibration to work. Cumulus is set up for an Instromet station and the 'extra sensor' box checked to reveal the wet bulb sensor as the extra temperature sensor. However, when I change the wet bulb calibration setting nothing happens. Calibration of relative humidity...
