Re: USB stop responding

Thank you so much. I just went through the steps. I'm a Linux moron, so hopefully I got it correct.

Re: USB stop responding

Can you show me how to do that? I'm not familiar with crontab.

Re: USB stop responding

Looks like it was just a timing thing. The data had gone stale in the last half hour, so it looked like it was still current when it wasn't.

Re: USB stop responding

The diagnostic file I just posted has the error text in it, but I just checked my PWS webpage and updated weather data is being posted. It's not locked up. So I'm totally confused. I will continue to monitor the webpage and send an updated diagnostic file when the data actually freezes up.

Re: USB stop responding

No, I just posted the error text from the diagnostics. Here's the entire file. This is actually the diagnostic file from latest lockup from yesterday.

Re: USB stop responding

One other thing I should mention. When Cumulus hangs up and I get the error and I hit "Enter" to terminate the program, it will not restart. When I type in the commands, I get a "Cannot connect to station" error. I must reboot the system entirely to get it to work again. Not sure...

Re: USB stop responding

I've been having a similar problem with increasing frequency. CumulusMX locks up and I get this error in the diagnostics file: System.IO.IOException: Input/output error at System.IO.Ports.SerialPortStream.ThrowIOException () [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0 at System.IO.Ports.SerialPortStream.Disca...

I'm having the same problem with "degraded allocation". What file did you modify? I can't find a systemd service file.

Re: _wapi_connect: error looking up socket handle

Steve, Thought I would give you an update on this issue. After more online research, I discovered that USB 2.0 ports do not play well in the vicinity of USB 3.0 transmitters (like the Logitch hub for my keyboard and mouse). I found this out when I noticed that mymouse was not behaving well. So a few...

Re: Web pages won't load

I just wanted to report back that everything has worked flawlessly for almost a month now. Not a hint of a problem either with the real time display or the PWS website. Thanks to Steve and all those who helped this old man learn some new tricks.

Re: Web pages won't load

Thanks - worked like a champ. My PC displays the data no problem. Here's the only weird thing (and at this point it's a "don't care") - after I got the displays working on my PC, I went back to the RPi and typed in the IP address and it showed all the graphics as well, but only one time. I...

Re: Web pages won't load

Steve - yes I exited Cumulus MX, made the changes to the .ini file and restarted. So far all is well on the PWS website. Updating nicely every 30 minutes. Historically it will hang up after 2 or 3 days. I will attempt to get the PC to view the RPi interface when I get home tonight. Not sure how to l...

Re: Web pages won't load

Steve - the only reason that I try to look at the web browser is to look at the real time gauges display. I enjoy the graphics - you did a great job with those. But as I said it's more important that the data gets to the PWS website so my drip controller can see the data. All that was working fine u...

Re: Web pages won't load

Steve, When I was using Cumulus on my PC, it was all good. Display was fine, graphics were great and it posted to my PWS online fine. The ONLY reason I went to the RPi was to keep the weather station posting data to PWS online for my drip controller when we are away from home. We throw the PC in the...

Re: Web pages won't load

Update - I changed the USB port in the config file and, for reasons I cannot explain, the data is now getting sent to my PWS online weather. It must have somehow changed port numbers when I went to the powered USB connection. So, for the moment, two of my three problems are solved. The most importan...
