Hi
Have you cleared the base memory as I've found that I need to reset the offset if I do.

Alan

Re: Cumulus Calibration
Hi
You need to go into Easyweather - Setup - Station and at the bottom there is a box to enter the relative (ie sea level) pressure. Use St Athan (could be called QNH) pressure preferably on a day when there is little pressure change as their figure may be an hour or so out of date.

Re: 1.86 crashing
Hi No problem with crashing but I also got spurious rainfall figures - the sensor is rigidly mounted so I doubt it was the box moving and I suspect with the strong easterlies we've had it was picking up wind turbulence. The rainfall box is mounted west of a pitched roof (the only feasible place) so ...

Re: Report time reset
Hi I think after a lot of trial and error I've found the answer to setting specific reporting times. Use the easyweather prog to set the interval and allow it to run records a couple of times (don't worry about the actual time yet. The easyweather.dat file starts each line with two date/time groups....

Re: Report time reset
Hi Sorry about the rash of replies - it's Sunday morning and SWWBO is having a lie-in. Hourly partly because I'm interested in trends rather than detail and also I use an Excel graph for a month at a time and more than hourly gets to cluttered. I've tried adjusting the interval to round out the time...

Signal strength icon ??
Hi I've noticed my W8681 occasionally shows a small fan shaped icon just above the outiside humidity figures. If it stays on any more the just a flash I get a signal dropout - so is it a signal strength warning ? If it is it would be an improvement if it were on when the signal strength was high eno...

Re: Sunshine recorder
Hi There was a device (I forget who invented it) that consisted of a spherical glass flask silvered on the inside mounted above a tube aligned to the pole star. In the tube was some sort of light sensitive thingy. Presumably when the sun shone a bright spot would be refected down the tube. So I wond...

Re: DCF Clock
Oddly the DCF clock is running again even though it's raining even harder so it doesn't look like rain affecting the signal. I guess if it's an HF signal it could be storms over europe. I did also have a data drop out intermittantly and I wonder about radio interference - I've got a feeling those li...

DCF Clock
I know there has been long discussions about the atomic clock reception and mine wasn't working so I went inside the sender box and repositioned the ferrite rod horizontal and checked the soldering - seemed OK. Everything went well for a couple of hours - the time corrected itself - and then I lost ...

Script error
I was trying to post a new topic from the help - contact - forum page and kept getting a script error - something like helpbox was nul. Whether I clicked yes or no to continue the error popped up again. Had to use task manager to shut cumulus down.
Regards.

Sunshine recorder
Hi
Cumulus has a facility to import solar data - does anyone know of a reasonably priced sunshine recorder or a DIY project to make one.

Re: Weather Station positioning
At the risk of repeating things already posted (I'm new) or it may have been on another forum - I made a shield for the W8681 (same unit) sender using 8 B&Q plant pot saucers (7inch) with a 3 inch hole cut through 7 of them and bolted together with 5 mil threaded rod with plastic tube spacers. (...

Report time reset
I'm another new user - what I have read so far looks very useful - thanks all and cumuls is great. As I don't run my computer all the time I rely on the w8681 log to update cumulus. To keep things neat I'd like to log every hour on the hour (or maybe in round quarters) so how do I set the 8681 to do...
