Re: Update to PHP 7.1 some scripts not working

Alas, I am not an expert in using SQL (nor do I have it currently running on my weather website), so far be it from me to counsel you on the conversion.
Others, with more experience, will need to give that advice...

Re: Update to PHP 7.1 some scripts not working

From the PHP.net website PHP 5 users can choose between the deprecated mysql extension, mysqli, or PDO_MySQL. PHP 7 removes the mysql extension, leaving only the latter two options. If your programs are running mysql calls, they'll have to be converted to mysqli calls to run on PHP7+ You might tryht...

Re: Saratoga Templates with PHP 7

I don't see the extra debugging code in the output (but I do see it in your source), so that instance is not invoked. It must be one of the other AddDate() calls that is throwing the error. We fixed the PHP Warning message. The PHP Notice: messages are a nuisance but not harmful. Given that your ins...

Re: Saratoga Templates with PHP 7

Ahh.. that explains the line count issue... Line 1381 is $newdate = mktime (0,0,0,$month,$nday,$year); which is inside function AddDate ( $month, $day, $year, $numdays) { $nday = $day + $numdays; $newdate = mktime (0,0,0,$month,$nday,$year); return getdate($newdate); } The AddDate function is invoke...

Re: Saratoga Templates with PHP 7

For the second error, change $data = '<td class = "date">' . substr($tdate[weekday], 0, 3) . '</td><td class = "date"><a href="' . $PHP_SELF . '?ID=' . $WUID . '&amp;month=' . $pmo . '&amp;day=' .$pda . '&amp;year=' . $pyr . '&amp;mode=1&amp;units=' . $un...

Re: api.weather.gov format changed again??

The api hasn’t changed, just the data loading to the api server has become more unreliable.

Download https://Saratoga-weather.org/advforecas ... p?sce=view as advforecast2.php and replace your V5 script with the old (but still working) V4.02 version.

Re: Saratoga Templates with PHP 7

All my sites are now running 7.2.2. I did have to upgrade my JPGraph software from 4.0.1 to 4.2.0 to avoid some errata in error_log. Everything else is ok.

Re: End user feedback on recent website modifications.

Nice work, Tony. You've cut the page load down to 1.5MB and it loads in about 5 seconds on https. A good improvement!!

The 'sweet spot' for page loading is 1 to 3 seconds, with faster being better. Over 10 seconds, and many will abandon the page load.

Re: End user feedback on recent website modifications.

Hi Tony, You have a great design for your page.. congratulations. I get some timings for page loading that match other's experience -- about 10 seconds on https. Using the web developer tools in Firefox, I see that the graph*.php hidden images (under the mouseover icons) each take from 2 to 5 second...

Re: Regional network mesonet-map updated V3.08

It appears to be a JavaScript error from the Google Maps API code. In Firefox it says: TypeError: g.b is undefined js:120:483 trigger https://maps.google.com/maps/api/js:120:483 Tc https://maps.google.com/maps/api/js:50:406 _.J.prototype.bindTo https://maps.google.com/maps/api/js:123:328 _.Uv https:...

You seem to be running WU-History.php Version 3.1

You might try the 3.1b version (1-Dec-2017) for WU-History-inc.php in this download

Hi Tony, I did split these posts to a new topic. Looks like temis.nl has some stale data <!-- get-UV-forecast-inc.php V1.08 - 11-Nov-2017 --> <!-- UV forecast courtesy of and Copyright &copy; KNMI/ESA (http://www.temis.nl/). Used with permission. --> <!-- UV data load from from cache ./cache/uv-...

Re: WU-forecast.php

Since the API returns something, just not all the things, maybe the shorter version could be detected by

Code: Select all

if ($zerosize < 20000) {
which would spot the ones with reduced data.
