Re: Problem with date and time for update

Looking at https://ljm.brugergruppen.dk/vejr2/check-fetch-times.php?show=settings shows the PHP pages are getting the tags and realtime from the ./vejr2/ directory (same directory as the vejr2 site is located). the ./vejr2/ajaxCUwx.js script shows var realtimeFile = '/realtime.txt'; // URL location ...

Re: Error regarding USNO Sunmoon data

After several months of testing/tweaking, the get-USNO-sunmoon.php script has been revised to V3.00. The major changes are: 1) switch to using curl to access api.usno.navy.mil API (better timeout control) and 2) addition of built-in calculations to supply sun/moon rise/set and moon %illumination and...

Re: Wetbulb and Cumulus

Yes, Cumulus does produce a wet bulb temperature tag. In the Saratoga template, it shows as $WX['wetbulb'] On a page where you'd like the value shown, just use <?php print "Wet bulb Temperature ".$WX['wetbulb'].$SITE['uomTemp']; ?> I'd not included a $wetbulb value in the CU-defs.php, but ...

Re: Saratoga trends page update with Dew Point display

Since the update also replaces the ajaxCUwx.js script, be sure to check the settings in there, especially for the realtime.txt location.

I changed the default from /realtime.txt to just realtime.txt to better help those who install in subdirectories :)

Saratoga trends page update with Dew Point display

It all started with a simple request to have the Dew Point trends displayed on the Weather-Display wxtrends.php page. After some discussion there, it was quite feasible to add, so I updated the Weather-Display WD-trends-inc.php and ajaxWDwx.js scripts to do that. I got to thinking that both Cumulus ...

Re: Decoding METARS

Wow, thanks for the detailed report about the changes!

I'm interested in your PHP7 code if you're willing to share.

I will be updating the get-metar-conditions-inc.php script to accommodate the 2017 changes (and a couple of bug fixes that have emerged lately).

Thanks!

Best regards,
Ken

ec-forecast V5.00 released -- uses XML instead of EC page scraping

This version is a MAJOR rewrite of the script (originally released in 2006) and changes the way the data is acquired -- no longer will it be subject to the whims of the Environment Canada webmasters who seem to delight in minor tweaks to the page HTML. Instead, this script relies on the XML data pro...

ec-forecast.php V4.03 available to fix missing icons display

ec-forecast.php V4.03 is now available to fix the icon display issues with the EC website changes on 29-Aug-2017. Please note that this is a quick fix job (since I'm on vacation), so some functionality is not implemented: 1) the '*' for Abnormal temperature trends is not working 2) only the long Day...

Re: Error regarding USNO Sunmoon data

Brian is using the same class Moon() for rise/set calculations as I am using (renamed to class calcMoon in my code). That program was showing an hour off the USNO times due to a coding foible the original author had used.. setting the timezone offset by 15degree chunks based on the longitude. The or...

Re: Error regarding USNO Sunmoon data

Oops, forgot to honor the $SITE['WDdateMDY'] setting for the output dates.

Change

Code: Select all

   $timeFormat = "H:i m/d/Y";
to

Code: Select all

   $timeFormat = $useMDY?"H:i m/d/Y":"H:i d/m/Y";
and that should fix it up.

I've updated the beta script with that change.

Re: Error regarding USNO Sunmoon data

Yes, the Settings.php entry overrides the default set in get-USNO-sunmoon.php script itself.

Here's a better comparison with the USNO v.s. other software for times -- the USNO timeout had to be set to 30 seconds to have the API respond :(

Re: Error regarding USNO Sunmoon data

After several months of trying/tweaking, I think I found a good set of calculations to allow replacement of the USNO for moon times/sun times. This uses 3 classes with some mods from their originals. One does phase/illumination, one does rise/set times and one (from Jachym) is used for moon transit ...

Re: PHP Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by

Your header.php has a line header('Content-Type: text/html; charset=utf-8'); that is not in the distributed header.php .. that's what is causing the extra warning statement. In the template, the character set is established by top.php with //Version V3.04 - 05-Feb-2013 - added support for HTML5+UTF8...

Re: Regional network mesonet-map updated V3.08

Busted.. you found parts that I'd NOT updated, and I've not been watching my error_log closely for a while. The issue was caused by no readings for GUST (mostly) and in some instances by bad reading for TEMP or HUM in the fire-danger script. I've added some is_numeric() checks before trying to do ma...
