Re: Tarting up my Data Summary

if($value < 0.05) $value = 0; // 1 tip regarded as error Both Davis and the Met Office regard this as a dry day. ... but if you want to change it - go ahead I take your point but the threshold is 0.01" on all my other Cumulus records so I would like consistency. 0.05" is a lot of rain to ...

Re: Tarting up my Data Summary

I've found the relevant section of code in betel_readDayfile.php line 443. That is the only instance in that file. I would like to change it to 0.02 thereby ignoring tips of 0.01". A single tip is 0.01" of course, no more.

Do I need to check anywhere else?

Re: Tarting up my Data Summary

Thanks for confirming beteljuice. I also have a threshold set in Cumulus so 0.01" is treated as a dry day. But those amounts I listed were all greater than 0.01" so should have been treated as rain days. If you add up the individual amounts for Sept they come to 4.56" which is differe...

Re: Tarting up my Data Summary

Whilst I remain very happy with the New Data Summary page I've noticed an anomaly with rainfall compared to what is stored in my dayfile.txt. See attached image showing Sept 2017 rainfall taken from dayfile.txt. Here is the Data Summary page. http://www.cheadlehulmeweather.co.uk/betel_datasummary.ph...

Re: Tarting up my Data Summary

Gents, it's a OS / browser issue. I was looking at the page via my iPad which has some wind arrows in a blue block and others not.

But on my Win 7 laptop running Firefox the view is consistent - no blue blocks and just arrows. Weird how the same data can be interpreted differently by different OSs.

I think we’re talking about different things. I’m aware when I select a cell the days show in the left most column. But this is not the issue. Some wind directions display differently to others.

Re: Tarting up my Data Summary

I’ve added some extra elements including Wind Dir. On the associated display some directions have the indicator in a blue block but others don’t.

Is this by design?

Re: Station Signal Loss?

Following on from Toxic’s reply I know the VP2 has software that shows the quality of the signal and how many successful and missed connections. Check the manual for details on how to display them.

Re: Tarting up my Data Summary

Funnily enough, I had just set up the same programme at http://www.tottonweather.co.uk/betel_datasummary.php :D I also have the double season name in the seasonal summary, how do I include the images in there? Any help appreciated! Copy the three png files and one gif to the parent folder on the se...

Re: Tarting up my Data Summary

Thanks sfws, I’ll look at that any see if I can work out the problem.

I’m quite pleased I managed to get it running without too many issues to overcome. Wouldn’t have been as straightforward without the help of yourself, Paul and Mapantz.

Re: Tarting up my Data Summary

I'm absolutely made up! :D Thanks to all who helped. The programming is brilliant to be able to read a text file and create a display like that in a couple of seconds! The averages are a real asset too. My visitors will enjoy the major upgrade. Just need those double-named seasons sorting. ht...

Re: Tarting up my Data Summary

Thanks Mapantz. I think it's complete except when selecting Seasonal instead of Daily in the drop-down.

The season names are duplicated. How is that fixed?

Re: Tarting up my Data Summary

The path to dayfile.txt was wrong in betal_readDayfile.php. I amended it and copied the php to the server.

This is looking a bit more encouraging... http://www.cheadlehulmeweather.co.uk/be ... ummary.php

Re: Tarting up my Data Summary

That's because I'm an idiot Paul!

I forgot those files needing transferring to the server. They're there now and the page has changed but it can't read dayfile.txt for some odd reason.
