Re: Data catch up (Cumulus 1)

I can't see anything wrong from the three files you attached - I'm not sure why you chose those three, it's much easier for me to find problems if you simply zip up the entire diags folder and attach it (as a single zip file), so I can see all of the diags files, and open them all at the same time.

Re: Data flatlining

All the true spikes I’ve seen generated by Fine Offset stations have been several degrees, so I I’m assuming that’s what most people have it set to. The typical spikes which Cumulus tries to ignore exist for one reading only, and the reading returns to normal. So the spike removal setting makes Cumu...

Re: Data flatlining

That’s a very low setting for spike removal, a Fine Offset “spike” is typically very much higher than that. Your flat-lining is almost certainly caused by your spike removal setting (i.e. your station is recording an increase in temperature of more than 0.3 degrees over a 48 second period, this is p...

Re: Regular Linux Mint failures with latest MX build

I’m on permanent vacation now

Yes, the log files would be good. I think they may just show an exception accessing the serial port, and MX has no recovery from that.

Re: Regular Linux Mint failures with latest MX build

What exactly do you mean by “crashes”? Does it exit abnormally and print an exception to the console? What does the end of the diags file look like? Hopefully you have debug logging turned on?

Re: PressOffset

Yes, I can see that from the files you uploaded. Perhaps the USB interface on your console has locked up - a common problem with Fine Offset stations. Presumably you are you using the ‘synchronise’ setting but this hasn’t helped? All I can suggest is the same as always, that you reset your console.

Re: Data flatlining

Are you saying this happens with Weather Display too?

What weather station? You have two in your profile. It sounds like you mean the Fine Offset station - these are well known for the USB connection locking up. I assume you are using the settings in Cumulus to synchronise reads with the station?

Re: PressOffset

I’m confused. If those are the latest four diags files, you haven’t actually had any data from Cumulus since you restarted it after you first posted in this thread, so I don’t understand where you are getting the readings from that you have quoted. On all of the restarts after 5th November, Cumulus ...

Re: Remove data records from specific dates & change start date?

Edit the November data log to remove the earlier lines, delete the corresponding entries from dayfile.txt, and then start Cumulus and use the built-in editors to re-extract the various sets of high and low records. You can edit Cumulus.ini to change the date that Cumulus displays as the start of you...

Re: Extra logfile with latest values.

In MX (which uses .Net conversion strings) minute is mm and month is MM - see the full list in the first MX announcement post (I think the list is also in the wiki).

Re: Extra logfile with latest values.

Create an entry in the extra web files, don’t select ftp and supply a local file for the output file.Pretty sure there is more on this in the wiki. The input and output files can go wherever you want, you have to supply the full paths anyway. Probably best not to interfere with the Cumulus data fold...

Re: Data catch up (Cumulus 1)

Yes to your questions about amending data, you don’t need to edit yesterday.ini, it will sort itself out eventually. I can’t look at the diags files until I am able to use my PC again, and I don’t know when that will be, being on the road constantly. Someone else may be able to look at them, or you ...

Re: PressOffset

Manuel, there was no database associated with your web hosting account, and I couldn't find a record of you asking for one to be created, apologies if I've missed it. I've created one for you and sent you a private message with the details. Note that you will need to edit any scripts you use so that...

Re: PressOffset

I think perhaps the example in the wiki has the same problem - specifying a monthly log for the dayfile?

Re: PressOffset

If you zip up and attach the latest file from the MXdiags folder, I’ll take a look. Regarding the database problem, I think you are using my hosting? I will have to have a look on my laptop to see what I have set up for you. I would have sent you a username and password when I set up the database fo...
