Re: Cumulus MX crashes on new Windows 10 box

I think the Wireshark capture is the way to go, that will show what MX is sending to the logger and should confirm that the logger is forcibly disconnecting, and hopefully show why it's doing that. Do you get the same problem if you turn off periodic disconnects? And/or turn off the logger uploads t...

Re: Installation auf raspberry

You are using Mono 3.2.8 with a locale which uses commas for decimals (German). As mentioned in the instructions and the MX FAQ, and as I keep posting in the forum, Mono 3.2.8 does not work with locales which uses commas for decimals.

Re: Installation auf raspberry

After rebooting CumulusMX, saved data such as rainfall today, rainfall this month, rainfall this year is set to zero. This is certainly not wanted? In the event of a power failure, all stored data would be lost. How can I restore the old values? If you zip up the mxdiags directory and attach it, I'...

Re: La Crosse Technology with (pi) Raspbian

It seems to be reading data from the station OK. Your problem is this: 2017-02-24 21:16:53.382 Mono version: 3.2.8 (Debian 3.2.8+dfsg-10) 2017-02-24 21:16:53.383 Current culture: French (France) As the instructions and the MX FAQ mention, version 3.2.8 of Mono does not work with locales which use co...

Re: La Crosse Technology with (pi) Raspbian

Turn on debug logging and data logging by adding the following to the [Station] section in Cumulus.ini:

Logging=1
DataLogging=1

Then start Cumulus and attach the latest mxdiags file here after it's been running for a few minutes.

Re: realTimegauges.txt and gauges-ss not uploading

realtiime.txt is probably working because Cumulus does that itself (you have 'Realtime.txt ftp' selected), you don't need it in the extra files. That additional upload of realtime.txt is presumably failing. Are you sure that ftp.skifjeld.com/vorsetlia/vaeret/ is the correct path? It looks like you h...

Do you know that /dev/ttyUSB0 is definitely the correct port? Is Linux finding your USB adapter and configuring it as that port?

Re: FTP Problem

The basic browser probably doesn't support "web sockets" - see the MX FAQ for what you can about this, if you want to.

Re: Rainfall readings wont stop

Cumulus calculates the monthly and annual rain totals at startup from the daily totals in dayfile.txt. If you restart MX to force it to re-calculate, the current totals are displayed near the start of the mxdiags file. If it's coming up with a undefined value, it could be that there's some weird val...

Re: RaspberryPi script to display weatherstation values via ssh

I am not sure, but when Steve writes: " I changed MX some time ago to create the json graph files in the web directory " maybe this means, that when you save the config one more time now, this file will be (re)created in the /web directory ? The file gets re-created every time MX does a w...

Re: New MX setup

While VVP is a very good, and unique product, it is out of date, and no longer supported, and there are a number of known issues wth it, all of which go to explain why it is now free. That's not to say that there may not be issues with MX, but MX does seem to work fine when talking directly to a con...

Re: New MX setup

The value 3 for that setting is equivalent to 15 minutes.

To get rid of those ftp errors, turn off all of the realtime ftp settings.

Then turn on debug logging and data logging by editing Cumulus.ini - see the instructions - and start Cumulus. It looks like VVP just isn't responding at all.

Re: New MX setup

The ini file in MX had DataLogInterval=3. I changed that to 15. That's not how that setting works, 15 is not a valid value. The way to change the interval is via the user interface. Console fires up now. Showing Normal Running. But data still stuck at zero. Have a look at the diags file and see wha...

Re: New MX setup

This is the setting Cumulus is using: 2017-02-22 14:42:19.831 Logging interval = 10 Those archive entries that are being downloaded are at 15 minute intervals, so that is apparently the interval the logger is using (but I have no idea how VVP affects this, perhaps it has those entries already downlo...
