Re: _wapi_connect: error looking up socket handle

It looks like you have a number of different but possibly related intermittent communication issues. The ftp messages are probably because I made uploading of that file turned on by default, not spotting that it would also try to do it if ftp wasn't configured. You can just turn off the realtimegaug...

Re: Davis Vantage Pro 2 Plus - Non-recording of Little Rain

The standard for manual recording if you know it rained but not enough to be measured is to record "trace", but of course you can't do that with Cumulus. So personally, I wouldn't change the readings you're getting unless you're absolutely sure of your correction, as otherwise you're just ...

Re: Davis Vantage Pro 2 Plus - Non-recording of Little Rain

I'm not aware of this being a problem with Pro2 stations. I think you need to check that the gauge is level, and that the mechanism is correctly positioned - perhaps it is sticking, and the first tip frees it up somewhat. There are screws for adjusting the gauge, perhaps yours are unevenly set (so a...

Re: RestartIfUnplugged

The point of the setting (which is really just a hack) is to stop Cumulus logging the same data repeatedly if the connection to the station is lost. When it restarts, the expectation is that it won't be able to reconnect and hence won't log any new data, and no, it won't restart again after that, it...

Re: Error in daily rain

If you zip up the MXdiags folder and attach it to a reply here, I'll take a look.

Which day is it that you believe is in error? Today, the 23rd?

Re: RestartIfUnplugged

Seems to be working. For example: 23.06.2017 13:53:00.119 : Error!!! Failed to write to USB! Then, 60 seconds later: 23.06.2017 13:54:00.244 : *** Data input appears to have stopped, restarting And again: 23.06.2017 14:17:01.963 : Error!!! Failed to write to USB! There was no 'restarting' message th...

Re: RestartIfUnplugged

That's the debug log, it's the diags file (from the diags folder) that I'd like to see.

If you zip up and attach a diags file from an example of the unplugging occurring, I'll take a look.

Re: Download Progress info missing

See the FAQ: http://wiki.sandaysoft.com/a/FAQ#I.E2.80.99ve_just_installed_Cumulus.2C_and_it_didn.E2.80.99t_download_all_the_old_data_from_my_weather_station It's done for consistency and simplicity, reducing the risk of issues with the data from the station when Cumulus is first run.

Re: Download Progress info missing

The amount of new data available in the logger isn't known in advance, Cumulus has to work backwards from the latest entry to work it out. I'm pretty sure there is code in there to give a progress indication from that point on, i.e. while it is actually processing the data, in the progress window an...

Re: _wapi_connect: error looking up socket handle

What version of Mono are you using? It may be a bug that they have fixed in a later version. As you have a Davis station, you should be OK with the latest version. Assuming that you have debug logging turned on, are any messages logged to the MXdiags files about the PWS updates, which look like they...

Re: FTP taking a long time to upload

FTP is a very inefficient protocol, and for small files like the ones Cumulus uploads, it's the number of files involved which slow things down, rather than the total size. If you turn on ftp logging the ftplog.txt file should show what's going on and where the time is being used.

Re: Can't see the graphs

I don't know what the xml upload is that you're referring to, but if it's a file you asked Cumulus to upload by ftp, the only place the password is held is along with the username etc in the internet settings. If you changed your password while Cumulus is running you might need to restart Cumulus to...

Re: Can't see the graphs

The required javascript files are giving a '404 not found', so it looks like you haven't uploaded the contents of the webfiles directory supplied with MX.

Re: forecast is wrong

Two things:

1. Read the FAQ
http://wiki.sandaysoft.com/a/FAQ#Cumulus_got_the_forecast_wrong.21

2. The forecast for the East Midlands says to expect thundery showers.
