That error usually occurs if you are not starting MX with administrator privilege.

Re: Steve - my annual subs are due
Sorry, Ray, I did see your PM - I am currently having a think about the hosting, and I'll get back to you soon. Note that I have no intention of stopping hosting your web sites on the server, nor of increasing the price.

Re: Previous month rainfall and temp not updating
Not updating just on the web site or in Cumulus too? If both, then you may have a corruption in dayfile.txt. Normally the red error light would be flashing if that were the case. The latest diags file may have error messages regarding the file, telling you where the problem is (as would clicking on ...

From your web site, it appears that it did the midnight rollover successfully last night?

Looks like the version of Mono you are using - see other posts on the forum about compatibility with the USB component which MX uses.

Re: MXDiags logged errors
Due to an error on my part, MX tries to upload the realtimegauges.txt file by default even if you don't have an ftp site configured. Go into the internet settings and turn off the ftp of the realtimegauges.txt file.

Re: The handshake failed due to un unexpected packet format
That doesn’t surprise me, I expect that line of code is still the same. Rebuilding the DLL from the source with that line changed stands more chance of working.

Re: The handshake failed due to un unexpected packet format
Yes, I saw that discussion about TLS 1.2, that user got it working by changing one line in the source code and rebuilding. It’s possible that might produce a version of the DLL which would work with MX. It’s also possible that the DLL in the download you mention might support 1.1 or 1.2, and might a...

Re: The handshake failed due to un unexpected packet format
System.net.ftpclient. There is apparently now a later version but with a different name, presumably it now supports 1.1 and 1.2

Re: The handshake failed due to un unexpected packet format
Yes, it looks like the third party ftp component which MX uses will negotiate TLS 1.0 but no later version.

Re: The handshake failed due to un unexpected packet format
I did think that perhaps the OS played some part in the protocol negotiation. What version of Windows are you using - 2003 as in your profile?
I still haven’t had chance to do any testing on my server. It does seem to be pretty conclusive that this is not an issue with MX.
