Re: Year range for viewing data, ended in 2020
Thanks Paul :) Yes it might be time for MX, although I haven't looked into how much work is required to bring all the data over. >Without the patch, you can still enter any year, but you have to over-type with the full year yourself. I tried that a few times, but it didn't work for me, not updating ...

Year range for viewing data, ended in 2020
Does anyone know a way to view monthly data after Dec 2020 in Cumulus 1, to view monthly rainfall, temp range etc? The little scroll window only goes from 2000 to 2020, same thing for trying to view monthly NOAA reports. I'm trying to find a missing 20mm from my manually recorded rainfall for 2021, ...

Re: New VP2 not detecting data logger
Thanks guys, it does indeed seem I'm a green dot victim!
I've just ordered a new logger, so I should be back in business in a week or so.

New VP2 not detecting data logger
My 10 year old VP2 has been retired, just being used for rainfall for the past few months, after ants killed most of the internals, UV turned most of the plastic to chalk, and lightning wrecked the anemometer years ago. I've finally been able to afford a new VP2, using my old UV and radiation sensor...

Re: Weather Station for Android
It made no difference that I can see, I changed it to 980. I think the parameters used to figure out the forecast just do not work very well in my climate.Ned wrote:You could try lowering your low limit and see if that makes a difference.

Re: Weather Station for Android
Hi Mark, I have them set to low 990mb and high 1040mb, which is about the full range I have seen here. I hate to think what would happen if the pressure went outside those limits.... perhaps a forecast: "take cover, imminent asteroid impact!" ;) >> they are a bit of "fun" really....

Re: Weather Station for Android
... is there a way to change the forcast as it not right... The forecast appears to come from Cumulus, and for me it is almost invariably incorrect. Perhaps the data used to determine the forecast works in EU/UK, but it is hopelessly incorrect much of the time here in Oz, so I ignore it, unless I a...

Re: Weather Station for Android
After a recent update there is a lot of overwriting of the data on the widgets. Update time is hidden under wind speed, solar is only partly visible at the bottom on the large widget, and missing entirely on the small one, as is wind speed.

Re: Cumulus 'Freezing'
Update to my problem above- the restarts were getting more and more frequent, often 10 restarts by the middle of the day. Looking in device manager it said the USB ports were all ok, but I didn't believe it. I bought a 2nd hand HP laptop with Win7 to replace the Sony Vaio (with the abominable Win8 O...

Re: Cumulus 'Freezing'
The auto-restart works most of the time, up to about 8 times per day, although I still have to manually re-start sometimes. This is usually due to the -32701 error not clearing in time for the re-start, and also sometimes it just sits there with nothing happening, with zeros displayed for temp etc, ...

Re: Solar Data and "Max" Values
I find I have to use a higher transmission value in winter than summer - possibly due to the additional water content in warmer air? I do the same, as there is a significant mis-match in the theoretical curve vs reality. I'm not sure that it is due to absolute humidity though, as we can have a high...

Re: Cumulus 'Freezing'
I installed build 1099, restarted, and it downloaded the backlog, but then stopped and didn't log any new data. I re-started and it went for about 8 hours, but then it froze again ;( So then I just ran it long enough to grab the backlog and closed it again a few times, to avoid the freezes. Then I n...

Re: Cumulus 'Freezing'
It looks like that made no difference, as it has stopped twice already today. Attached diag file covering the first freeze at 5:18am

Re: Cumulus 'Freezing'
I think I did set USB selective suspend to disabled when I set the computer up a year or more ago, but just found them enabled, so changed them back. I'm not sure why this would change, presumably only a few days ago, with no input from me. The solar data logging is every second, so I would think th...

Re: Cumulus 'Freezing'
Thanks Steve, I figured that was what was going on with that error number, but I don't know why it is continuing to happen 2 or 3 times per day, at random times. The laptop is only running Cumulus and the Graphtec solar data logger, so the processor is not working too hard, and there is plenty of fr...
