Switch from Console to WLL

Been running my WLL (and Airlink) for a few weeks now, and all seems ok with them. I have set up the Airlink in Cumulus, but now need to do the WLL. Are there any gotchas I need to look out for when switching, or is it just a case of changing the station type, and putting in the WLL details. Thought...

Re: Davis weather link live setup

Just got my Weatherlink Live (and Airlink and tipping spoon, thanks Prodata) and in process of setting it all up. Sure I will hove some further questions as I go on, but for the moment something I have noticed. If the WLL is connected via ethernet cable to my network the Weatherlink app on my iPhone...

Re: Weatherlink Live / Airlink

Some mixed reviews on the spoon so far. Generally pretty accurate, but can be jammed by pine needles (as can the buckets). The VP2 and Cumulus count every tip. Thanks, no pine trees near by, but there is a big sycamore tree. Really covered the lawn in pollen last spring, and of course the spiny hel...

Re: Weatherlink Live / Airlink

Thanks for the feedback. Think I may go for the Weatherlink and 1 Airlink. While I'm "upgrading" my system, I have also seen that there is a new "spoon" type measurer for the rain gauge instead of the tipping bucket. Again, anyone using one. Generically my rain gauge is ok, but I...

Weatherlink Live / Airlink

Hi, After getting my solar / uv sensors up on a pole separate to the ISS I am now looking at a Weatherlink Live unit to replace the Relay Device I am currently using to trick the VP2 Console that they are still attached to the ISS. Looking around, a couple of sites (including www.weatherstations.co....

Re: Davis VP2 Relay Device

That's good to hear. I have been trying different timer (t) values. Tried many between 0.99895 and 0.99906, and got a verity of re-syncs with all. The best (only about 1 re-sync in 20 odd hours) ones were 0.99895, 0.99896 & 0.99897. I then tried 0.99895 & 0.99896 for longer, and some days I ...

[Rejected] WLL - Get Archive records from console

I want to move my Solar and UV sensors to a pole up on the roof and plug into the wind transmitter I have got. However to be able to access the solar / UV readings I either need to use the Moteino Relay device (that Mark wrote code for), or a WLL. I have been playing around with the Moteino, and tho...

Re: Davis VP2 Relay Device

I was already up to 7 re-syncs by 10pm today, so I am now trying 0.99904. To try and help monitor the stats I have created a "davis" table in my MySQL weather database, it has 6 columns, with the first being datetime and the other 5 INT(6). I have then put the below SQL into the "Cust...

Re: Davis VP2 Relay Device

Hi, Could someone that have it working share his actual code ? Thanks I'm using the code from here: https://github.com/mcrossley/VPTools I copied the the files from VPTools/Examples/RelayRxTx/ into a folder on my PC, and loaded the RelayRxTx.ino file from that RelayRxTx folder into the IDE, and com...

Re: Davis VP2 Relay Device

So, I have 3 re-syncs between about 8am and 11pm, and then another 1 between midnight and 8am this morning. I have set for t0.99906 now, and will check again tonight. Because the wind is coming direct from the transmitter it's quite hard to see if these re-syncs are quick or if am getting any flat l...

Re: Davis VP2 Relay Device

Thanks, I have changed my timer value slightly. First I put it to 0.99800 (so dropped 0.001 again), and as per dropping the same amount last time, the timer field went down 3 from 192 down to 189. I then set it to 0.99905 (so a rise of 0.00005 on the 0.999 I had yesterday), and the timer field showe...

Re: Davis VP2 Relay Device

So, been running the relay all day (last 12 hours), and as far as I can see all has been ok with it. Looking at the solar graph (which isn't that high today, but has many ups and downs) I can't see that there was any flatlining. The stats page shows 98% reception, but it does show 8 re-syncs (the tx...

Re: Davis VP2 Relay Device

So, had time this evening for a bit of a play, set the timer value to t0.999 (just a guess, but as my jumps were 195 I thought I would reduce it), and bingo, now the jumps are (mostly) 192. 62 254 = 192 190 = 192 126 = 192 62 = 192 255 = 193 191 = 192 127 = 192 63 = 192 Console set for tx1 - wind, t...

Re: Davis VP2 Relay Device

Powered up the relay, and set the console to: tx1 - wind tx3 - iss When looking at the stats page for tx3 the timer value field was jumping up about 195 each time (so close to an expected 192). When the wife has finished work and is out of the study later I will try changing the timer value on the r...

Re: Davis VP2 Relay Device

Timer correction made the biggest difference to my reception reliability. The value displayed by the console is the last 8 bits of its internal timer. So the value wraps from 255 to 0. If you had a value 132 followed by 10, then the difference is 256 - 132 + 10 = 134 Your experience with the VP2 Co...
