Re: How I get the communication protocol data format of Weather station USB to PC Cumulus software ?

I'd missed the USB HID requirement though, the Davis protocol uses either a serial port - real or virtual - or IP port, for Cumulus anyway. It can operate in some native USB mode but only the Weatherlink software uses that as far as I am aware?

Re: How I get the communication protocol data format of Weather station USB to PC Cumulus software ?

Each station does it differently, depending on the capabilities of your station you may want to emulate a simple station like a Fine Offset, or a more complete protocol would be something like the Davis VP2 protocol. Their are existing implementations of the Davis protocol out there if you search ha...

Re: index.htm file shows 0 xero bytes

So the indexT.htm is zero bytes? If so you need to replace it with the proper for from the installer.

If it's just the index.htm on your website, and the index.htmtmp in the Cumulus folder is OK, then just delete the file on your web server - you may need to restart Cumulus after that.

Re: Server Generated Graphs for MX

When you edited the settings file, did you do it with a decent editor that saved it in the same format as the original - UTF8?

Re: Solar radiation settings

Looks pretty good. You will want to check it occasionally as I find the transmission factor needs tweaking slightly between summer and winter. Yours could be tweaked up just a little to get your actual curve just inside the predicted. The transmission factor is basically a combination of fixed scatt...

Re: Solar radiation settings

50 would be a good starting point, and see how it goes in the mornings and evenings. I have dropped mine down to 30 and it is still reasonably accurate at recording that early and late sunshine.

Re: Solar radiation settings

I use around 0.85 = 85% as the transmission factor.

Re: CUTags.php not updating

expand the OS to the full 32 GB so I could tolerate more wear & tear on the SD card etc. I don't think you need to do that, but it won't do any harm either, I'm pretty sure the SD card will wear level the writes across all its memory cells whatever the partition size. But bigger cards are bette...

Re: Highcharts Graphs

Hi Phil, yes it should be pretty straightforward to do that. The the script modify the changeImage() and $(document).ready() functions as follows (untested!)... function changeImage(im) { switch (im) { case 'temp': temperature(); break; case 'press': pressure(); break; case 'wind': wind(); break; ca...

Roughly, doesn't work for some edge cases. Try say 32.675 or 32.745. :?

Re: Met Office WOW site - upgraded but many stations missing

The Davis applies all sorts of "corrections" to the pressure reading, not sure how does it. But it does use temperature and humidity, so if they differ widely between the stations then the pressure is likely to be different too.

Re: WM² in Solar Gauge

It's not a mistake - Wm -2 is an alternative way of writing W/m 2 . Not sure why Mark chose to do it that way, though. Just that it takes up less space, and I'm used to writing it like that back from my physics days. I have seen an issue with it though in that I use the superscript "-" ch...

Re: Where can I change the forecast-text?

You need to edit the "realtimegaugesT.txt" file in the Cumulus web folder.

Change the "forecast":"<#forecastenc>", entry to put whatever tags/text you want it there.
