Re: Solar Data and "Max" Values

Odd you get a squashed response Alan, my home brew sensor just uses a simple photo diode and mimicks the Davis output voltages. You'd think the London crud would affect all the readings - more crud the lower the sun gets.

Re: Solar Data and "Max" Values

Getting breezy here now as well. Anyway, I plotted out today's data against the Ryan-Stolzenbach, Bird, and Bras models, and the winner was.... Bras! About the simplest model. Bird requires lots of parameters setting, for most of which I could not find a source, especially not a current "today'...

Re: Solar Data and "Max" Values

Hold your hat Steve, some different data from today on the way....

The Bird model is by far the most complex.

Re: Solar Data and "Max" Values

Interesting, from "eyeballing" it I think my homemade (attached to a Davis ISS) solar sensor curve matches the Bird model better than the R-S model too. I'll collect some data today (looks like its going to be sunny most of the day) and compare the models.... Also its -past- time to "...

Re: Highcharts Graphs

You input the average temperatures for your area as recorded by your local met. office. These will probably be quite different from the averages recorded by your station.

Re: Davis Vantage Pro 2 - Barometric Pressure - 1100 hPA - Impossible

Sounds like a faulty sensor/connection to me, 1100 hPa is the max scale value, so if the sensor has gone kaput I'd expect that sort of reading (either high or low).

Re: Vantage Vue Receiver Connects to 6357OV but not 6357

*If* the Vue is like the VP2 console you *could* switch it to use US frequencies, but then of course it wouldn't be legal in the UK and you may be liable to some interference from Vodafone 3G.

I don't have time to code up a full solution, but this should be a start?... // Do some AJAX to get this content from the server // Simulated here... var file = '"Year","1","2","3","4","5","6","7","8","9&q...

Re: Lowest Monthly Rainfall record desired on website

MX makes it easier, but you can stay with Cumulus 1 and use the ImportCumulus script to import the dayfile once a day after midnight (and monthly data file as well if you like - though that is not used as much).

Re: Lowest Monthly Rainfall record desired on website

You need a MySQL database on your server Ray :)

Easy to add this and other things like runs of wet/dry days, sunshine etc...

Re: Upgrading Vue ISS to Vantage PRO2 PLUS

Here's my view... I'd build your new ISS and put it on channel 2 (assuming the Vue is one channel 1). Then you can switch between them just by changing the listening channel on the VP2 console, if you spot anything wrong with the ISS it is easy to switch back. The only change you would have to make ...

Re: Questions about the rain fields in realtimegauges.txt

"rfall" I assume is the accumulated rainfall for 24 hours starting at midnight and reset to zero at midnight. Correct - unless the user uses a 9am meteorological day. "rrate" I assume is the rain rate in mm/h but over what period of time is this measured or calculated, over an h...

Nicely done, it's always fascinating watching those timelapse videos, especially when there is wind shear.
