Re: CumulusMX and Meteotemplate API

As an outside observer, it seems that MT could do with using a custom tag file that also contains today's highs/lows so it can accurately record them rather than relying on realtime.txt as has limited data available. That file could be additional and read less frequently, or replace realtime.txt as ...

Re: Meteotemplate

Has anyone figured out a way to run the " UPDATE.PHP " more than once per minute? I have Cumulus uploading the realtime.txt every 10 seconds, but Meteotemplate will only run the UPDATE.PHP once per minute via a cron job. There has to be a way to modify the UPDATE.PHP with a loop and a sle...

Re: Monthly Records show mixed months

It looks like it happened shortly after Cumulus started, so if it is being auto-started after a reboot... If you are running on a pi and relying on NTP for setting the time, then you should delay the Cumulus startup until after the pi has obtained its time from the network. I have installed a RTC in...

Re: Monthly Records show mixed months

It looks to me like Cumulus the rollover was not completed on midnight 31 Oct as the clock was changed from 31 Oct 15:17 to 1 Nov 07:17. This left the October data in the monthly.ini file and until the November records exceed the October values the file will not be updated (Steve?) 2017-10-31 15:17:...

Re: Low Battery notification

I'd either get Cumulus to run a script at the archive interval that checks the battery status web tag. Or get Cumulus to generate a tag file that a script run as a scheduled task say once a hour checks. In both cases you'd need an SMTP server to send the message. If you are running Windows PowerShel...

Mark - have a look at the Wiki - all the edits on that page are by you!

Wiki fixed, but I haven't looked in the script itself as the header also contains example usages iirc.

Re: Questions about wind readings

I may look at things like BearingRangeFrom etc at a later date maybe but I have already had one comment from a friend saying it looks too complicated already. I always take the view that my web page is mainly for me - given the numbers of visitors it isn't a competitor for BBC/weather! - so I put u...

Re: Questions about wind readings

It sounds reasonable to me. The only significant differences to how I think Cumulus handles things are: Cumulus just passes the last reading for 'wlatest' and 'bearing' rather than a rolling 50 second average. Cumulus uses the 10 minute high gust value for 'wgust'. Does 'windgustbearing' exist? I do...

I use Fiddler for this sort of thing - I last used it to see if CMX was url encoding Weather Underground http calls - it really is an excellent tool when you need it.

Re: Downgrade to Cumulus 1?

If your locale hasn't changed - are you running MX on the same computer as you will run C1? - then I think it should only need some minor tweaks to the cumulus.ini file. The NOAA filename template changed on MX.

Re: Long-term graphs

The most flexible way is to use a database, then you can extract whatever data you want. Cumulus MX has the option of directly logging data into a DB, for Cumulus 1 there is a PHP script to do it

A great start Lloyd, and I'm glad you were inspired by the gauges to get started. Are you going to put a page up about the weather station itself?

Thanks Mark, there is an About page on the top menu on the right, you may have to scroll across to see it.

Ah, yes I missed that, thanks.

Re: Editing CMX logs using Windows Cumulus 1

I have edited MX files in Cumulus 1 before without any issue, but my date formats are the same so it was easy.
