Re: Webcam .... Advice and Recommendations
However, I couldn't see how to alter the image resolution in that and I currently have it running at 640x480, same as Linux webcam. Now I know some members here have this webcam and/or Yawcam running at higher res... any suggestions, please? :) Hi Gina, you can amend the stream resolution under Str...

Thanks David. Do you do any refreshing of the php pages or work on the basis that someone will only look at a given page for a short time?daj wrote: No, I do not use the standard processed files. I process the PHP webtags file and uses this on my website pages

Re: AJAX - is it the new Betamax? What are your experiences?
I am a huge fan of Javascript (and Ajax) in the right place. A complete site based on it is not necessary in my opinion, however for something like (near) realtime data it is great. And throw in a great big serving of PHP too and you've got a great, dynamic site Thanks David. I implemented your exc...

Re: AJAX - is it the new Betamax? What are your experiences?
Ray, many thanks for your comprehensive and thoughful reply. As an example, I will use my 'still-under-development' Cumulus Web pages (the pages can be seen at the following link but they are no longer being updated by Cumulus as I had to stop all Cumulus operations because of continued crashes): ht...

AJAX - is it the new Betamax? What are your experiences?
Like many converts to Cumulus, I have worked my way through from restyling the core Cumulus web pages, adding Javascript gadgets and converting my pages to PHP. They've all been new to me, so lots to learn but very addictive. As the next step, I have been looking for some time at how best to convert...

Re: Webcam .... Advice and Recommendations
Hi Geoff, I needed a wireless camera because of chosen location and something reliable because we may be away for long periods of time. That bumped the price up, but we had been thinking of trialling something for some time for security too, so went for it. After much research and trawling of review...

Thanks Graham. There are certainly a good few examples there. Will have a good look when I get a chance.

Re: Weather Forecast for Gatwick
For info, we continue to find WU very accurate on forecast temperatures - and chance of rain (ie zero).

Re: Number of days without rain - possible webtag
I've finally got round to trying to add this to my records page. The query works fine when run as a SQL query directly on my database table. However, I am struggling to work out how to assign the resulting date and count to two separate variables which can then be displayed. (I can do one!). I have ...

Re: Number of days without rain - possible webtag
David, just tested the query and my result was 18th March 2010 for 17 days, which is correct.I would be interested in others testing this if you have your data in SQL

Yes I can see that would be tricky. I'd be interested to have an update on how you go on.

Re: Weather Forecast for Gatwick
I've implemented the WU Forecast page too. We're monitoring accuracy at the moment. I was horrified to see the number of days looming ahead with chance of rain, but its been accurate so far. We'll continue to review it but we've been showing 30 or 40% chance of rain on the days that it has rained. W...

Re: Number of days without rain - possible webtag
Thanks for raising the enhancement request Mark. I had a think about doing something in the mean time and came up with the idea of writing a query to run on the SQL database and display the result on my Record page. I went for 'No of days without rain 'nn' in the last month' and use a rolling month ...
