Re: Wind readings quite high after battery change?
I thought that replacement might not work with the WH-1081, I may buy the whole thing, as its currently on promotion at Maplin until Tuesday. I can then have some replacement parts, as I still think the wind speed might be playing up.

Re: Wind readings quite high after battery change?
I have a WH1080 (868.3 MHz) which is my main station, and WH1081 (433.9 MHz) which I use for replacement parts, although I did have the transmitter running to compare temperatures. I have bought the WH1081 transmitter inside next to the console where its been for a couple of days now, with batteries...

Re: Wind readings quite high after battery change?
Well my problem seems to have corrected itself, it must have been the turbulence cause by the house or something. However now my spare transmitter which I keep in my homebuilt Stevenson screen to compare temperatures with my main transmitter seems to have stopped working, it just shows a flickering ...

Re: Wind readings quite high after battery change?
I have looked through the manual, the only details it gives on about inserting batteries is in the initial start up bit. It says to put them in the transmitter first then the Console, I have been doing it the opposite way round, maybe this could cause a data read problem. I will try it this way tomo...

Re: Wind readings quite high after battery change?
I think it might be a to do the anemometer location. It is situated on a post about 4m above the ground. next to a flat roof extension of my house which is one story tall. The main house (2 story) is about 6 meters East of the anemometer, which probably blocks the wind a bit from that direction, thi...

Wind readings quite high after battery change?
Hello, I have a WH1080 Weather station, and I decided to change the batteries on the transmitter unit yesterday, as they had been there over a year and the console was starting to loose contact with it more regularly. However since doing this I have noticed that my wind speed readings are very high,...

Re: PC No longer recognizing W-8681
Well it seems as though the USB port on the console isnt completely dead. I took the batteries out and just started wiggling the usb cable around inside the port, and the backlight was coming on (Power from the USB Port).

Re: PC No longer recognizing W-8681
Thanks for the suggestion, but sadly it didn't work. I left the batteries out for about 20 mins the same with the USB cable.

PC No longer recognizing W-8681
Ok, so this morning I accidentally knocked my console of the shelf. The Console was still displaying data, however all firelds in cumulus were at 0. I tried restarting cumulus, then restarting my pc, still nothing. I changed the USB port it was plugged into, and windows didn't say anything about ins...

Rain Gauge Funnel Multiplier
Hi,
I have just added a bigger funnel to my W-8681 rain gauge, and now I need to know what the multiplier should be.
My funnel has a diameter of 18cm, so I have worked out the area is 283cm squared. How would I go about working out the new multiplier?
Thanks,
Mark

Outside Humidity not going above 92%
Hi, I seem to be having a problem with my W-8681 Weather Station, for the last few hours its been very foggy here, and my station has only got to 92% humidity, whilst three other places that use the same weather station as me report humidity of 97% or 98% humidity. Ever since I got the station the m...

Re: Current Conditions
I wanted to make the script read Metar data directly, but couldn't figure out how it would deal with all the discriptors, so I left it.
Maybe I will see what I can come up with later.
