Re: High readings when station loses communication with sensor

Just a very quick update, everything has been running just fine since I've had the station connected via serial to my "new" old PC. Probably worth my time sorting out a proper radiation shield for the temp sensor and a better site for the anemometer now. It looks pretty certain the intermi...

Re: High readings when station loses communication with sensor

Well, I collected my "weather PC" and have it installed in the attic with the WS2300 connected via serial for the last few hours. No strange readings yet even though I've had a connection dropout (more on that below), this time when the connection dropped ( there seems to be two ways the 2...

Re: High readings when station loses communication with sensor

Sorry to be so slow getting back to you, I've installed both updates and am collecting data, I've already had some strange readings but I'll leave it run for a while more with the latest update before I post up another bug report. I'm starting to wonder if the fault lies with the USB/serial converto...

Re: High readings when station loses communication with sensor

Hi, I have installed the new build but am still obtaining aberrant readings. Since these include data measured at the console, I am not sure that reception breakdown is the sole explanation. What I notice (e.g. for pressure readings) is that the wacky data contain elements of the preceding and foll...

Re: High readings when station loses communication with sensor

huh, cilldara, quite lots of bad data there, you really have it that much away from the main unit? Or have you tried connecting a station with rs232(comport) instead of USB? My friend gets just temperature spikes around 83°C i think... steve, what is your "hack" now? Does it ignore those ...

Re: High readings when station loses communication with sensor

Could you turn on the debug log, please, so I can see what the data looks like in these circumstances? Thanks, Steve Thanks for you prompt attention Steve, I've turned debugging on, though sods law says the error probably won't recur for a while and unfortunately this laptop isn't connected to the ...

High readings when station loses communication with sensor

Hi all, I've been using Cumulus (thank you) with my WS2300-11 for the last few weeks, and one thing has me puzzled, occasionally the base station loses (wireless) communication with its outdoor sensors. When this happens the station shows a blank (-) reading as does Heavy Weather but Cumulus shows e...
