Re: The inside of the ws-1081

on my unit the pressure stays as it is when i switch on the light. though i only have the leds on half power. if the drop happens at full power then it probably drains to much and the pressure sensor reacts to it. you could try to use a resistor between a full power lead and the switch, the value you...

nice job,i never got to finish it,glad you did. always to busy with other things at the same time (right now i'm working on an automated system to feed plant furtiliser daily and weekly (2sorts) in a small shrimp tank). in dutch and english: http://home.zonnet.nl/rsetteur/doseerspuit3/index_d...

http://home.hiwaay.net/~krcool/Astro/moon/moonorange/ but you already know that, beautifull moon though,i saw the same this morning at 05.00 going to work, only thing missing was a witch on a broomstick :P when you have a go at saturn, don't over-magnify,it will only get more blurry. a small sharp o...

Re: Astronomy and Astrophotography

yes, been a while :D if i remember correctly, your focus problem could be the fact of the build in IR filter in every camera, that focalpoint point gives a shift,.(hope you know what i mean). with the tuocam i had removed it(which was very easy) i mention this all from memory,so i could be wrong, will ...

Re: Astronomy and Astrophotography

has been years since i've done this, but the moon does have a different speed than deepsky. the autostar had a different setting for it. about registax,it's easier to use an avi file(about 10 seconds is enough) to make a picture, for every frame has almost the same alignment.(if your camera can make ...

Re: An idea for improved Fine Offset wind vane electronics

ah,i knew i saw it somewhere here. i noticed that the voltages have a "window" of 0.06 volts, but maybe that is for the chip they used, also the windows of the resistors can be calculated from these values, doesn't the use of parasitic power influence the accuracy? is it buffered in some ki...

Re: An idea for improved Fine Offset wind vane electronics

i measured open circuit and were pretty accurate with these values here which are the official ones i found somewhere.
i also remember these values in voltage for 1-wire,maybe usefull:

Re: An idea for improved Fine Offset wind vane electronics

i totally agree with that,
rocketman's plan is much better,
and also smaller to build, which is important too.
for me,i would be stuck to the programming by wires,
has it's charme as well.
(i really should learn that eprom stuff, saves me lot of wires crossed  )

Re: An idea for improved Fine Offset wind vane electronics

a very good idea. i know nothing about programming eproms. it should be easier and less soldering than my "old" analog electronics. for a plan "B" you could consider using a combination of a NOT gate with a AND gate for the 4 main wind directions and a AND gate for the in-between...

Re: Night sky images?

you can also let the (web)cam piggybak on a small telescope with goto-system. eg the MEADE etx-70 isn't very expensive second hand. so it would follow the earth rotation and allows longer exposures, without turning the stars into lines. mods and info: http://www.weasner.com/etx/menu.html done this a ...

Any possibility to change the transmission intervall from 48 seconds to say 30,10 or even continuously?

yet another "mystery" solved of this "simple station".

Re: Homebuilt Wind Vane 1deg resolution

Maybe instead of leds you could "consider optical interrupter switches". http://img-europe.electrocomponents.com/largeimages/R219249-01.jpg tricky thing is you would need 3 different sizes to read the disk,or make 3 separete disks for each code track. you could find them in an old vcr,usua...
