Re: Hate it when your station locks up & figures get made up

The thing is, I closed cumulus and edited the today log file, but once cumulus restarted, it re populated. Ok, then take out the hourly readings in the log, then edit the today file. This is just off the top of my head. As much as I have done this before, I can't check as my computer is dying on me...

Lightning triggers false rain. Got a fix?

For a few months I have noticed rain showing up on my console when no rain has fallen, yet I remember lightning being around. Now, just last week, with rain near but not at my house, there was lightning within 5km and I checked my station and it had recorded .1mm of rain at the same time of the stri...

Re: Hate it when your station locks up & figures get made up

It gets the hourly high value from the log. You can just edit the today file, shut down Cumulus, edit today file. I would go to the log file, and edit the hourly data that is still there. I would say that there was a glitch and has changed the rain count, thus changing the rain amount and hourly amo...

Mocroburst measured to 145kmhr and videod

If you check my facebook page (I can't share a link for the video, but here is the page https://www.facebook.com/pages/Palmerston-Weather/297597960282731), for February 14th, you will see a video of a little storm that appeared on radar (radar shots supplied) but it contained a microburst as it move...

Re: will lightening trigger motion detection on most cameras

I've got 100's of lightning shots. I wouldn't use capture every xx seconds. You'd be lucky to get anything. I just use motion detection to take 10 shots. Some lightning take up all 10 frames. I can then stack them into 1 shot. All my lightning shots are in an album on Facebook. I thought my logitec ...

Re: lightning detection device

I've been interested in this exact same system for a year now. I'd love to see how you go Chris. You might already have seen some of my lightning shots, it makes it a bit easier when you live in the lightning capital of Australia. If they aren't pre built, I should be able to do it, or get my techni...

Re: temperature blip
Rain and cool today. Any suggestions what would cause it?/quote] I believe the rain has put moisture on the connectors. This causes errors In temp. If it is really bad it will start to show low or no wind. Check your connectors. Solder new ones on if corroded. If you have ...

Stormchasers.net46.net Dangerous?

An automatic Trend Micro scan showed me that the following website was dangerous. And blocked the following: stormsearchers.net46.net/banner.php (a few times) "Apr 25, 2014 - Welcome to Our StormSearchers Website. The weather station in use is the Fine Offset, and these pages are updated every ...

Re: 0 wind speed

I have noticed over the last few days it appears my wind speed is reading 0. The cups are turning no problem, just not registering inside. Any ideas? broken cable, cable not plugged in, bad connection (wiggle it), extension cables with bad connections (cut them off and solder together), problem wit...

Re: i'm contemplating adding some slide pages * testing stag

Looks great. Although perhaps make it run faster if you are showing a few photo's that don't have really noticeable lightning. I also have a lot of shots without clear lightning but I make it run like a time-lapse. You can view mine by clicking on the webcam pic and following the link.

Re: Help I'm being a numpty!

Thank you for clearing that up water01, that it is obviously not the javascipt at fault :D . I also see that, even the the files are in the right spot that they haven't updated since 2200hr GMT, which I believe is the same as George's local time, so either he has switched it off to stop updating (pr...

Re: Help I'm being a numpty!

No need to do the below, it was an error in file upload placement. Remember I asked you George if you could supply a picture of your internet and files tab settings? :groan: If this doesn't get resolved by the host, we may have to move the host http://www.toucan.pw/ to the "Not compat...

Re: Help I'm being a numpty!

Gauges and trends are not working which would infer that you have not enabled the Internet upload of standard files in Configuration / Internet, or perhaps you have uploaded the images directory in the webfiles directory. Not correct. If you hadn't uploaded the standard files, you wouldn't see anyt...

Re: Help I'm being a numpty!

I think I need to go back to basics... Why don't you do a screen shot of your internet settings, "site/options" (like this one) and the "files" tab. Then we can try and work out where you need to upload them. Another work around is to not get Cumulus to make your own webpages an...
