Thanks Dimitis for your advice and for taking the trouble of posting a file shot which was a great help. Thank you.

Steel Series Gauges real update time setting.

I am using Cumulus version 1.9.4 build 1099 and Steel Series Gauges version 2.6.1 My weather station is a WH1080 and I've recently installed the above-mentioned gauges; now unlike the earlier gauges that I was using, I find that the default real-time gauge update period is only 15 seconds, and as my...

Re: Page Refresh.

Well, after a little to-ing and fro-ing things are running normally, this is what the web host did in order to get the required configuration: We have checked your issue and applied the required changes for the website file. As it appears to be a cache issue for nginx on server, we have disabled the...

Re: Page Refresh.

Yes, it struck me as a little strange that a technical support group would in effect be asking me or you how to configure their Apache server. Perhaps it will get moved up the chain, but seeing that the web hosting is costing only £14.99 for a year, I think there is a limit to what I may expect. Jef...

Re: Page Refresh.

Steve, I've been in touch with RS Hosting and after a couple of attempts at explaining the problem, or more accurately what I wanted, and of your advice to me, they have asked the following question: I believe this is something to do with Apache configuration on the server. Can you please consult yo...

Re: Page Refresh.

Dear Steve and Mark, Thank you for your guidance, I will follow this through this afternoon and report back on how it goes. The speed of return on this forum is remarkable, I don't know of one with a turnaround time faster than this, also the advice is effective. Jeff Cook. I've done as you said Ste...

Page Refresh.

Dear all, After having switched web hosts and gotten over the initial problems, I've noticed something which I haven't noticed in the past, namely that whilst the initial page (Now) and the second page (Gauges) update with every five minute ftp refresh, the rest of the pages namely Today through to ...

Re: FTP Problems

Active mode doesn't seem to be working at all, it's unable to make the connection for the data transfer. You'll need to go back to passive mode and try to get it working that way. I'm afraid I don't have anything else to suggest, it seems to be a problem with the ftp server or your connection to it...

Re: FTP Problems

Thanks Steve for the very fast reply. I've gone over to active FTP mode and although things are a little different, the problem remains essentially the same. You will see from looking at the attached FTP log file that the whole process, (which by the way is one single upload), took 10 minutes, from ...

FTP Problems

Dear All, I feel that senility is setting in, after some years of using cumulus to run a website I have now moved to a web host that is more Cumulus friendly, and cannot get the thing working properly. In short the FTP upload is extremely slow, some files appear correctly and some don't, and in part...

Re: Problems with station communication

That's just the job Steve, I'm unbelievably slow but I got there in the end. Now I can let the other HRD forum members with weather station interests know that there is a direct method of getting Cumulus generated data into HRD's DM780 macros.

Re: Problems with station communication

Thanks for that explanation Steve, I will print it off and read it several times and then give my turgid brain the time it needs to assimilate the information. Then I will report back here, and if successful will pass on your advice to those on the Ham Radio Deluxe Forum whom I know will be as enthu...

Re: Problems with station communication

From a vast array of Current Data Tags available within Weather Watcher Live, I use just the four shown immediately below. These are saved to a .text file of my choosing, and appear as shown in the second block of data. It is this block of data which is used by Ham Radio Deluxe to construct a macro ...

Re: Problems with station communication

[/quote]That's interesting, given that quite a few Fine Offset owners appear to be radio amateurs. Steve, as regards quite a few radio hams being weather station owners, this is probably explained by our mindset. There are several digital modes of transmission where voice isn't used, but macros are ...
