And failed again - console memory empty, might be too soon to see if the baro is out of whack again, everything else appears ok. It actually seems worse on this usb cable - will try a 3rd.

The pattern I noticed with mine was that the barometer value would no longer change whenever it locked. Everything else seemed to record fine, just the baro.It didn't seem to matter how full the little memory indicator was either.

No problems with the solar, but mightily sick of the comms lockups. I'm pretty sure I will be dumping this hunk of junk VERY shortly.

I have found that once Cumulus stops talking to the console I cannot get Easy Weather to see it either. I've never run Easy Weather long enough to see if it locks up using that as the weather application.

To clarify :) I think what may be happening, from something I read elsewhere, is that there is possibly a bad memory block (or 2 or 6!) in the FO (or maybe even just a bad firmware design!) that causes Cumulus and the supplied Easy Weather software to stop being able to read the base station. Wait until the memory errors start (Cumulus loses comms with the base unit) and the only way to fix them is to power down the base completely, and then you have to reset everything

I've just had confirmation from FO that there are indeed old and dew versions of the solar/uv sensor. The ones I have (and the pictures I posted showing the black wire and changed pcb) are, as suspected, the new version. They tell me they are still working on a fix for the old version and will reply...

I really don't understand why FO won't document whatever mod they did to my unit. It has been 100% reliable - without the need to do anything to batteries

I've emailed them again to see if I can get them to tell me.
