Re: AERCUS WS3083 weather station ...

I had one of those systems as a second system - primarily for the Solar Radiation/UV. Wish I hadn't bothered. The transmitter seemed to eat batteries (about 6 weeks life on average), the UVI was hopelessly inaccurate. I decommissioned it - and took it apart to see if I could re-use it in any way - s...

Re: CumulusMX gets no connection to Wh1080

I'm running mono v 5.0.1.1 under Debian Jessie on BananaPi Pro. I am using GB locale so decimal points (not commas).

To download older version go to http://www.mono-project.com/download/ and check towards the bottom about older versions

Re: Back again

Mark

I may have to follow your Pi3 route. My BananaPi SSD has reached end of updates. It is just about running Jessie but I had a bit of fun getting Letsencrypt to run on it - it isn't supported on the official Bananian release.

Re: Which Linux flavors are most successful so far?

I'm running Debian Wheezy on BananaPi Pro (for the SATA SSD support). Not bothered to move it to Jessie as it works well and I am not planning on extending the functionality that much. I have had CumulusMX on Debian Jessie on RaspberryPi 2 for my now defunct Fine Offset system.

Re: new weather stations?

I bought a AERCUS WH3083 (rebadged FineOffset) to get some solar readings to augment the Davis VantageVue I have. It ran for a few months before getting problems - mostly with the wind vane - so have been using just the solar pod via Jim Easterbrook's pywws software. I have unplugged the rain and wi...

Re: A few different issues - hardware & software!

I wouldn't mind spending a bit more on something fully featured that's genuinely built to last - do such options exist?

Have a look at some of the Oregon stations - they are generally a step up from the Fine Offset systems.

There's the DAVIS options - but these can get quite pricey.

Re: Cumulus Realtime.txt Dashboard Template

Simon, Just edited the two cron jobs changing the relative file ../filename to ./filename i.e. removing the first period. This works as did my non-relative edit previously. This is all I have changed other than the settings.php in the version running now - it's the darkversion so I could see the dif...

Re: Cumulus Realtime.txt Dashboard Template

I did modify one or two files - my CumulusMX system runs on the same system I use as my web server so I don't do transfer of realtime.txt. I have deleted the /pws folder on my site and copied over the uk dark version. I have the cron files set up as in your directions and from a clean install I get ...

Re: MX .........?

As I'm sure Steve would have said - did you read ALL the installation instructions and follow them to the letter? The s/w is dependent on other system components ( eg mono-complete on Debian) and even then it requires a particular version. Most of the start up errors are down to forgetting one or mo...

Re: Changing Weather Station

The Vantage Vue is connected to a BananaPi as I use a small SSD to run the s/w and the database. The BPi comes with an SSD port. It runs Debian in headless mode.
