Very true - I should've thought of that myself, and saved asking the question. Thank you for the swift reply.

realtimegauges.txt - available from API?

I upload the realtimegauges.txt to my website every 5 seconds. I think it would be more efficient to call the API for the same data on demand, as the daily number of hits on my gauges page is far less than 17280 (number of uploads of realtimegauges.txt in 24 hours). I can easily proxy the call to re...

Cumulus Wiki - Cumulus users page

Is it possible to edit my entry on this page? I moved house in December.
IIRC I requested an account for this wiki a long time ago in order to do this very task :-)

Re: An error has occurred - please zip up the MXdiags folder and post it in the forum

It could be that Twitter have changed their API (again) and Cumulus breaks the new rules. I'll see if I can find anything about this. It would be useful if someone using MX and Twitter could reply to say whether it still works for them. It works for me - hourly updates. https://twitter.com/Fishpool...

Re: setting up cumulus mx for website

Deleting the settings pages doesn't stop someone accessing your settings by calling the settings API directly. Very true. I think the only way around this is to proxy the calls to the API - Apache is very easy to set up to do this. On my site (I use the standard Cumulus site, not the interface) I p...

Re: mac mini G4 - no dice

Tried to get it to run Cumulus MX by downloading the last Mono compilation (2.10.5 - it said it installed OK) that would run on the G4 but the Cumulus MX would not run, it was missing something (::MakeArrayType()). I think MX needs a newer mono version. The earliest version I have seen used success...

Re: Two Directories at once?

... or you could use a symbolic link on the server to link the two directories. What's that? It's like a file system pointer from one directory to the other. If your two locations on the file system are: /var/www/site1 and /var/www/site2 and you were sending your Cumulus data to the first location,...

Re: Timeouts after Linux upgrades

As it's affecting both http and ftp, the issue is apparently at a lower level I have resolved the DNS lookup problems which were contributing to about 50% of the timeouts. I should say what I did, for completeness. I upgraded Ubuntu linux from 16.04 to 17.04. You do this by first upgrading to 16.10...

From your quote above, I am assuming that Cumulus doesn't set a connection timeout value? If it doesn't then I am assuming that...

Timeouts after Linux upgrades

I have just upgraded from Ubuntu 16.04 to 17.04. I am now seeing loads of timeouts and issues with HTTP transfers. Excerpt from MXDiags file: 2017-05-22 14:00:00.226 http://api.weathercloud.net/v01/set?wid=7307801638b50821&key=<key>&tempin=203&temp=191&chill=191&dew=121&heat=...

Re: Feature Suggestion ;) tmp folder

If they were all created in a single folder then it would be easy to link this to a RAM drive and avoid having all that IO on the main drive You can do this yourself using symbolic links. I have my MX installed as per the FHS ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Filesystem_Hierarchy_Standard ) guideline...
