Re: "So far" day rainfall out of step with hourly totals

That was my first thought too - a question of timing. But the tip didn't register in the previous hour's total either, so it was effectively lost from the hourly totals from the day. That was the bit that caught my attention as I couldn't account for the tip at all. I'm happy, though, as it wasn't l...

"So far" day rainfall out of step with hourly totals

Since changing my twitter.txt to report both hourly rainfall and day total so far, I noticed a discrepancy last night. Tweet for 2100 UTC: 2100 UTC: Wind N 0.0 kts. Temp 17.1 C (max 09-09 21.8 C at 13:54, min 09-09 16.4 C at 09:00), Dew pt 15.7 C. Bar 1015.31 hPa, Rising slowly. Rain last hour 0.0 m...

Re: Behaviour of "today" tags at the end of the day

Thanks for reply, Steve. That is fair enough. I have thought of a work-around in the interim - have two versions of twitter.txt, one with the "today" tags and one with the "yesterday" tags, and use a Cron job to switch between the two at 0830 and 0930. Hope you are well and settl...

Behaviour of "today" tags at the end of the day

I have recently decided to make use of the larger maximum size of Twitter tweets by editing my twitter.txt to include more data. As well as the current data that Cumulus already tweets every hour on the hour, I have included the rain total for today (in my case 0900-0900) and also the maximum and mi...

Re: FTP'd files have incorrect permissions

You don't need your permissions to be as lax as 777. You won't need the execute bit set firstly, as they aren't files that get executed. The only user that needs write permission is the user that FTPs the files - which is also the owner of the files. Therefore you should really tighten up the permis...

Re: Wind Speed Abnormality

Ah okay. I thought I would ask the question, though, as the on/off hours seem to be fairly consistent and coincident with when the sun was highest :D Good luck with diagnosing and sorting it out.

Spike removal

I'm running Cumulus MX latest build, collecting data from a Davis Vantage Pro 2. I occasionally get 5% humidity spikes. See the graph below.

Does spike removal work on humidity for the VP2?

Very true - I should've thought of that myself, and saved asking the question. Thank you for the swift reply.

realtimegauges.txt - available from API?

I upload the realtimegauges.txt to my website every 5 seconds. I think it would be more efficient to call the API for the same data on demand, as the daily number of hits on my gauges page is far less than 17280 (number of uploads of realtimegauges.txt in 24 hours). I can easily proxy the call to re...

Cumulus Wiki - Cumulus users page

Is it possible to edit my entry on this page? I moved house in December.
IIRC I requested an account for this wiki a long time ago in order to do this very task :-)

Re: An error has occurred - please zip up the MXdiags folder and post it in the forum

It could be that Twitter have changed their API (again) and Cumulus breaks the new rules. I'll see if I can find anything about this. It would be useful if someone using MX and Twitter could reply to say whether it still works for them. It works for me - hourly updates. https://twitter.com/Fishpool...
