Re: Station placement contradiction
Where is this ideal world? I'd like to go there. I'm structure limited in terms of placement. I can lower it, though not to the 4' 6" mark (where did you get that reference BTW). I'm not over grass because this is Texas in the middle of it's worst drought in history, there is no such thing as g...

Station placement contradiction
Ok, I've placed my station approximately 10 feet off the ground, with nothing closer than 50 feet to it. Sounds good so far, right? Well, my station reported a low temp of 36F, but I had frozen plants in my garden. So, next nite, same thing, except I put a min/max in the garden on the edge of a rais...

Re: Chill Hours
Many thanks for the explanation. The Utah model "might" be of issue where I live. It is not unusual to have 40-50 degree temp swings during a week. I save my data, next spring I'll run it against the other model and see if it makes much if any difference.

Re: How do I prevent data gaps when clearing device memory?
 Geez, I've spent too many hours as a computer programmer. Never considered the "don't clear the memory" thing. Grew up with Windows 3.11....you ALWAYS cleared the memory (also known as a reboot). Ok, got it, just regularly roll the data off and I won't have any gaps, so long as I do...

How do I prevent data gaps when clearing device memory?
I have my own station and one at work. (A WS-1090 and a WS-2080). I run only Cumulus. Currently, about once a month, I close Cumulus, Open EasyWeather, export all data for a given time period to a .csv, clear memory, close EasyWeather and restart Cumulus. Obviously, no matter how fast I do this, I g...

Re: Chill Hours
Thank you for the information. I don't suppose you can tell me the value? We measure chill hours as time between 45 and 32 degrees F, and if chill hours start accumulating and then the temp goes back ABOVE 60 degrees F, chill hours are subtracted. I'll assume the formula for Cumulus is not that comp...

Re: Chill Hours
I just recently installed Cumulus 1.9.2 to my new weather station. 1. How are Chill Hours calculated? My system has been up about 2 weeks on Wunderground, and today.ini shows 7.3481 chill hours. I'm sure it is incorrect, we have not dropped below 45 degrees yet here in Texas. Second, we have had a h...
