Spiders in the station. What's your remedy?

In only 3 weeks my rain sensor was arrested a spider's nest. I have read that others have the same problem. Probably most weather station are affected by nesting insects. There must be some long-lasting solution for it. I don't want to go on the roof every two weeks and spray the sensors. Any ideas?...

you were right. Dayfile.txt had some lines with 2005 dates in (why did I not see it?). Could well have come from the PC.
So everything is fine now.

This is how my daily rain looks like in the graph uploaded by Cumulus to my website. http://www.angelesflying.com/weather/images/raindXX.png We're in August 2012. Station has been running for a week. I had the exact same problem, made the same mistake: selected Fine Offset (WH1080 etc) instead of Fine Offset with UV/Light sensor. Steve's answer fixed it. Great service to a great software, definitely worth a just donation (hope we all chip in enough to keep him going). Back to the problem. I fear...
