Re: No Weather Data Displayed / Using Davis VP2
The com port remained the same but at some point I did disconnect and then reconnect the cable to the VP2. Maybe that did it and it just took some time to recognize it?

Re: No Weather Data Displayed / Using Davis VP2
Hi Paul, Thanks for your kind and speedy reply. I installed CumulusMX in a separate folder from V.1 and hence using a new Cumulus.ini file. So I went about comparing the old and new .ini file to see how they compare and couldn't find any obvious issues. Then I did look at the diag file and was ready...

No Weather Data Displayed / Using Davis VP2
I've been a long time user of Cumulus V.1 and today decided to install the latest version of Cumulus MX. I've configured the settings using the same info as the previously working V.1 (e.g. COM6). The settings were successfully saved but no weather data is displayed on Cumulus. I did confirm via the...

Re: Time of Day Missing in "Recent Extremes"
Thanks again Steve - I'm sure this was a communication issue now.
Sorry I didn't know to search for the specific error; but now all is good and I know a bit more about solving my own computer issues.

Re: Time of Day Missing in "Recent Extremes"
That must be it Paul. After I reset everything, the time(s) appeared in the Cumulus display next to the related "extremes". Odd that only those times were affected. No doubt a communication glitch with the com ports, serial to USB and all of that. I have work to do to correct it, but thank...

Re: Time of Day Missing in "Recent Extremes"
While I'm sorting out the upload issue, I took a look at the most recent Diag file(cumulus.009). Below is a snippet from the file. You can see the error messages after the rain counter data. Those error messages go on and on and on for a very long time? 1/9/2014 20:13:16.628 : Rain last 24 hour: 0.0...

Re: Time of Day Missing in "Recent Extremes"
Steve - Guess I'm having a bad day. When I attempt to upload the zipped file using the "choose file" button, the "progress bar" dialog box just hangs endlessly. Conversely, when I "choose" a filename and submit my reply to the board it shows the upload but then results ...

Time of Day Missing in "Recent Extremes"
Hello, I'm seeking some help to correct a problem. The time of day shown in the "recent extremes" always shows "at 00:00". Consequently, the "extremes" only contain the value which occurred at midnight (e.g. whatever the low temp was at 00:00 is the low temp for the ent...

Re: Basic Help
Thanks Steve. Managed to figure it out. I had failed to tick the 'realtime' box in the sites/options tab.
I really appreciate the help and the terrific software.

Re: Tinkering my first webcam!
Thanks for the advice Richard. The realtime box is checked. I worked on trying to figure this out all last night and until I saw your message it still confounded me. Then, I looked at the internet"sites/option" page and noticed that the realtime box there was unchecked. About as fast as I ...

Re: Basic Help
Thanks for the speedy reply Steve.
I have entered the full path for both files. I noticed on another thread about the same subject that the filename was wrapped in parens like this: {filename}.txt
Is that necessary? Cant figure out what I've missed.

Re: Tinkering my first webcam!
Hello, I've been trying to use this ifo to create a .txt file contained the temp and wind speed, etc. Obviously I am missing something fundamental. I have created a temperatureT.txt in C:\cumulus and have also created a temperature.txt in the same directory. The temperatureT.txt containes the proper...

Re: Basic Help
Hi folks - I've done this before but for the life of me cannot figure out what I'm doing wrong. My goal is to create a 'temperatureT.txt file with current temp data. I have TemperatureT.txt shown as the local file name in the INternet files tab. The file exist in the cumulus directory with the temp ...
