Re: Excuse me whilst I dust myself off...
Thank you both. The weather station is up and running, it does work with CMX quite happily, and also uploads directly to WOW and WU without issue. The PI situation was a little underwhelming as the Zero is without network. The Pi B+ is really quite old, so I had to uninstall and reinstall mono-compl...

Excuse me whilst I dust myself off...
Hi All, After many years of quietly running data to the world, my faithful but prehistoric Watson W-8681 has finally detached itself from its various appendages, and is steadfastly refusing all attempts at electronic mediation. Given that it's had as many spare parts as Triggers Broom, I feel it is ...

Re: Dayfile.txt uploading to a web server via FTP?
Your Pi should be able to run FTP, what error do you see if for example you type in "ftp" without the quotes and hit enter?

Re: Dayfile.txt uploading to a web server via FTP?
It should be pretty easy to achieve using either python or a shell script and Cron to schedule your job to do the upload. There shoudl be lots of examples if you google "FTP shell script" for example.

Re: MySQL query question
yes, but then LogDateTime probably isn't even the best thing to use as the join either. :) If someone can give me 30 or so lines from their table (ideally a dump file) I'll set it up here and have a play as its so quiet. I'd probably opt for individual max / min queries to remove any ambiguity anywa...

Re: MySQL query question
something like : $query = "SELECT b.LogDateTime,max(a.Temp) as maxTemp, max(a.Dewpoint) as maxDewpoint FROM Monthly a right join Monthly b using (LogDateTime) WHERE a.LogDateTime > '2012-12-18 18:20:00'"; I don't have this table at hand and am at work, so this is very theoretical but will ...

Re: Programmer's help needed !
if you have a batch job, you can just call an FTP script to move files about, they are as simple as open <ip address> username password cd /<directoy>[optional] put filename [or mput *.extension or get or mget] bye call this from your batch script as ftp -i -s:<path/to/ftpscript> :)

Re: who's online php help
Hi Mike, I don't use phpMyAdmin - but it looks as though you have to with your host. Provided for every field you select the correct corresponding data type and length etc, the table should create correctly. It would probably be easier to go to the import tab and import the file with all the create ...

Re: who's online php help
The create table info is in a text file, and works ok for me directly in MySQL. CREATE TABLE `whos_online` ( `session_id` varchar(128) NOT NULL default '', `ip_address` varchar(20) NOT NULL default '', `name` varchar(64) NOT NULL default '', `nickname` varchar(20) default NULL, `country_name` varcha...

Re: Weather Underground
Can't be. When I have a 15 mph average wind speed it shows 24.1 km/h. But, this is 25.7 km/h which is 16 mph, ok? Fine. But, you don't see BBC Weather showing 16 mph if it's 15 mph. A short maths tutorial for your benefit. To convert km/h to Mph, divide by 1.609344 25.7 divided by 1.609344 = 15.969...

Re: Weather Underground
25.7km/h = 15.97mph
I think all you are seeing here is a rounding issue between the various different types of software, and really, 1mph, accept it already, how may more posts about 1mph ????
If it was 10 mph, fine, but please please nor more posts about 1 mph wind difference!
Stop please!

Re: Realtime Pi
Yes, the python code pulls it from the website and parses it agains another file, to work out what fields should be displayed against which title. I'd rather get the file locally but being a n00b to python I havent had a look at the complexities of getting a file from a windows box with all of its a...
