Re: 2nd Anemometer Failing
I've been reading through this thread with interest. I've had my Vantage Pro2 since 2014 and it's needed maintenance 4 times in that period. I do live right next to the sea in Orkney and we are prone to spells of gales here so it's not unexpected. It's the very definition of a maritime environment! ...

Re: Likelihood of it getting a bit breezy
How much rain are you used to getting? What is your wet season? I've only just started recording so I can't give you accurate figures for normal rainfall patterns but we've had a lot of rainy days without a break hence the ground is sodden. To give you an idea, our longest dry period in November wa...

Re: Likelihood of it getting a bit breezy
Just for comparison mine were 64 mph max gust, 41 mph max average. I don't mind the wind so much but the amount of rain we've had lately is getting to be a problem. I had to fix a small problem with a shed roof and there's standing water everywhere - the ground is absolutely sodden. We could really ...

Re: Is a Davis Vantage Vue a good move?
One of the members on here (Belfryboy) makes an alternative to the Davis interface cable that's significantly cheaper. He can also produce a wireless version that enables the console and PC to be separate. I've recently bought the wireless version for my Vantage Pro 2 console (my console is downstai...

Re: Ex-hurricane Gonzalo
The Churchill barriers were interesting this morning - a bit on the splashy side and that was before the wind speed increased. We do get a lot worse here though.
