Re: Year rain total not showing up

Stuart,

What do you mean by the "Year all time records"? Cumulus doesn't keep an all time record for annual rainfall.

Re: Year rain total not showing up

Well done, you seem to have found a bug. You should find it's displaying correctly on the 'This Year' screen. For the main display I'm doing something completely stupid when trying to work out if the additional rainfall applies to this year or not. I'll fix it in the next release (of version 1). Steve

Re: General discussion about Cumulus...

Perhaps I should be using ° for the degree symbol - that's how the wind bearing is done, and that displays OK on your site.

Cumulus 1.7.14 available

Mainly bug fixes, a few more web tags, and one or two other small changes that I've been asked for over the last few weeks.

Re: EasyWeather 2.0 V4.16 / Cumulus 1.7.13 / Weather Underground

The rain problem in Easyweather is probably the same one as described here:

viewtopic.php?f=13&t=29

As far as I know Fine Offset still haven't come up with a fix.

Re: General discussion about Cumulus...

I've just noticed I have the mouseover problem on my site too. Very odd. Edit: And having refreshed the browser window, the problem went away. I really have no idea why that is, as I said I didn't write the javascript code for the gauges, and to be honest I'm not a javascript expert. Your site still...

Re: Windows 98 SE

No, Cumulus doesn't seem to work with Windows 98 now. It used to, but I've obviously done something that stops it working. Something to do with threading, perhaps. Microsoft stopped supporting it two years ago, and it now accounts for about half a per cent market share, so I can't promise to do anyt...

Re: General discussion about Cumulus...

Your date seems to be OK now? As for the mouseovers on the gauges, they do look rather odd. I didn't write the code for those myself so it'll take me a little while to work out what the problem is. I notice that degree symbols on your site are not displaying correctly - in my browser anyway. I can't...

Re: EasyWeather 2.0 V4.16 / Cumulus 1.7.13 / Weather Underground

I've only ever seen one format of the easyweather.dat file and I didn't realise that it had changed between the two versions of Easyweather 2.0. It seems rather strange that they would do that - I could understand if it had changed between v1 and v2.

Is anyone else having problems like this?

Re: Additional data upload

Actually, I may as well provide a few formats as it's easy enough: <#day> = 07 <#dayname> = Thursday <#shortdayname> = Thu <#month> = 08 <#monthname> = August <#shortmonthname> = Aug <#year> = 2008 <#shortyear> = 08 <#hour> = 23 <#minute> = 59 OK? I have some bug fixes that I should get around to releasing, I could sneak some extra date/time tags in as well, as it wouldn't be much work. What format for the month - two digit number? Year 4 digits or 2?

Re: Additional data upload

You could generate something similar to that using the web tags and the additional files upload, but Cumulus is limited to uploading to only one ftp site. Perhaps the other site could read the file from your site? You could use the APRS facility, but that would require the other site to accept data ...

Re: The "forecast" setting on the main page

There will certainly be testing to do at some point, because I only have a VP2 and a mostly broken WMR928, so I can't test anything else myself.

Re: The "forecast" setting on the main page

Those stations do seem to be remarkably good value for money, though. But I don't know how accurate they are. I'm hoping that I will be able to get Cumulus 2 to talk directly to them, I have a reasonable idea of the protocol now.

Re: The "forecast" setting on the main page

David, It's there for other types of station which provide a basic forecast based on pressure and wind trends. Easyweather doesn't have this, so nothing ever gets put in there. I'll change it so that the label gets removed when Easyweather is selected. I should really do something about the web page...
