Re: The handshake failed due to un unexpected packet format

I’m certainly no expert at FTPS either, but neither am I in the habit of telling lies. What I was telling you, and what is certainly true, is what the documentation and the comments in the ftp component source code say, that setting “explicit” causes the component to use TLS. Whether that actually h...

Re: The handshake failed due to un unexpected packet format

All I can tell you is that MX is telling the ftp client code to use Explicit ftp encryption mode. According to the documentation (and the source code) Explicit=TLS, Implicit=SSL

Re: The handshake failed due to un unexpected packet format

Can they explain what the problem is, as Cumulus is clearly using TLS and not SSL?

Re: The handshake failed due to un unexpected packet format

It must be using either TLS 1.0, 1.1, or 1.2, because those are the only versions which existed at the time the ftp component was written. My conclusion is that you have some other issue. Are you using active or passive ftp mode, for example?

Re: The handshake failed due to un unexpected packet format

The provider which host my website has disabled SSLv2 and SSLv3 on their servers. Now CumulusMX cannot upload files with SFTP To clarify, MX does not support SFTP (sometimes called SSH FTP), it supports FTP over TLS (sometimes called FTPS). Is Cumulus capable of using TLS 1.0, 1.1 or 1.2 for SFTP? ...

Re: invalid json response

You’ll get that error if your dayfile is empty. By now it should have data in it, so you shouldn’t get the error and should see the data. If not, then you have some kind of issue between Cumulus and the station - the Mono version, perhaps?

Re: The current rain 'Gauge' value

I don’t really follow what you’re saying, but if you are reporting daily rainfall to somewhere that requires the figure from 0600 to 0600, clearly you can’t use the daily figure reported by Cumulus (unless you set your clocks artificially) as that only has settings for 0000 and 0900. But I thought t...

Re: cumulus not responding

I haven’t had chance to look at your diags files (need my laptop for that) but from what Mark has seen it sounds like you have a communication issue with your console and I endorse Mark’s suggestion.

Do you perhaps not have any data in dayfile yet (first day)?

Re: Regenerate alltimelog.txt

You don’t need to regenerate alltimelog.txt, it’s only there to help you amend alltime.ini. There is no way to regenerate alltime.ini in MX, however you could retrieve a copy from the latest backup folder that contains a valid version.

Re: Issues with old kernel having a security issue

You are becoming extremely tiresome. My mother died recently, I am in the process of emigrating to France, I am living in a motorhome, and I have been travelling hundreds of miles between the U.K. and other countries in the last few months. Do you actually read the announcements I post, or do you ju...

If you zip up the diags folder and attach it to a reply in this thread, I’ll take a look when I can.

Re: forced move to mx by laptop failure

WU and WOW don't use FTP, they use HTTP. If you turn on debug logging, the MXdiags file will show any attempted updates and any responses (but only if you don't have rapid fire set).

I'm not sure why you say you are forced to move to MX, you can keep using Cumulus 1 if you wish.
