Re: Erratic Readings Which Are Too Low

Yeah here running box #2 on Windows server and moving it to an RPi2. Only concern is wearing out the SD card. So far it has been OK. I messed up my Windows 10 machine yesterday installing Ubuntu 64 bit linux on it. I mean it still boots windows just fine. I added some 5 EFI boot sequences that do no...

Re: Erratic Readings Which Are Too Low

Unrelating to CumulusMX but relating to Windows 10 here having issues relating to power stuff on my Intel Quad core Baytrail computer. I cannot figure it out. I am using a multitouch screen / software / remote control of the PC via the automation mothership here. I typically just turn off the screen...

Re: Auto starting CumulusMX Debian RPi

@Russ I like automation tinkering and have sort of documented my stuff. I use FileZilla here to. I like that I can mix my Automation stuff in multiple OS's today. (Linux, Microsoft, Android and Apple). Yup I frequently posts on Cocoontech and have done a few DIY Blogs there. I am not really good at ...

Re: Auto starting CumulusMX Debian RPi

@bzncrew To ease the transition over to Linux install WinSCP on your wintel computer. WinSCP can be downloaded here: http://winscp.net/eng/index.php How do you make a script? I created on called cstart.sh and it won't do anything when I type it at the command line Where does it live? WinSCP offers u...

Re: CumulusMX configuration page won't load

Googling this morning relating to the RPi2 and USB WLAN sticks. I saw that typically the USB WLAN stick use 200-500mA's of power. And that the max USB draw supported by the RPi2 is 100mA. Note this was a quick check only. I have not personally tested this. If you want you can just plug in your WLAN ...

Re: CumulusMX configuration page won't load

Can you SSH to your RPi2 (guessing you are using an RPi2 rather than an RPi eh?) and type: uname -a mono -V and copy and post what you see here. Is there a way to be able to test your set up without the WLAN dongle attached? I mean using the built in NIC on the RPi2 rather than the WLAN for a bit of...

Re: Erratic Readings Which Are Too Low

Why do you have to guess, the top of the forum says in BIG RED Letters "Do not allow your PC to go into standby mode while Cumulus is running - read the readme.txt! Not a guess as I read that too; well too similar to the RTFM thing...I do come from a world of creating and writing standards and...

Re: Erratic Readings Which Are Too Low

Here have left the Fine Offset on the old Wintel box running still with Cumulus 1 mostly cuz its not here in the Midwest with me. I do still get an occasional disconnect of the USB port where the batteries have to be removed from the Fine Offset tablet receiver. It is a PITA to fix this remotely. Th...

Re: Data files portable between C1 and CMX - both directions

can somehow arrange for two separate instances to use the same data, but not run at the same time, then yes, that should work, as far as I know.

Yes use two instances one at a time sharing the same data.

Re: Data files portable between C1 and CMX - both directions

@Steve, Would a data float to NAS of the updated stuff in Cumulus work such that both instances of Cumulus (one on and one off) used the same shared on the network data stuff. Unrelated here goofing a bit with automation main server is running Ubuntu 14.04 64 bit...parts of the automation still run ...

Re: CumulusMX - Linux/RasperryPi- Start | Stop | Restart Sc

Thank you Jan. I can run a cron job to back up the CumulusMX device using your script. I have multiple NAS boxes on line used for different stuff. Favorite though is using BSD. Yeah here trying to break one RPi2 that is using a microSD card. It is not protected from the extreme weather up there. (mo...

Re: CumulusMX - Linux/RasperryPi- Start | Stop | Restart Sc

But on my BananaPi I am booting from the SD card only for a few seconds. Only the /boot diorectory is still on the SD Card (modifying the file /boot/uEnv) Here doing similiar with my tabletop touchscreens. The EFI rom view shows that it should boot from a PATA drive but does not. I have connected a...

Re: CumulusMX - Linux/RasperryPi- Start | Stop | Restart Sc

a Raspberry Pi will not destroy a modern SD Card not at all, Here have been using the SanDisk Extreme PRO 16Gb microSD cards which are doing well. With older RPi version 1 started a couple of years ago with automation software on it and the constant RW's did mess with the SD card. Can you use an SS...

Re: CumulusMX - Linux/RasperryPi- Start | Stop | Restart Sc

Thank you Jan. The cron enabled script is working well. But what I can do is, adding a new option into my script to a) shutdown the screened CumulusMX b) shutdown or reboot the system Thank you. Here too for less wear and tear on the microSD cards putting temporary files in Ram. I have not done it y...
