Re: Cumulus 1.8.9 Beta Build 886 - Wind Gauge Problem
Has anyone else had a problem with the Moon phase pictures not showing in this version? Mine just shows a black square.

Re: cwop altimeter bogus reading
Ok thanks - it seems a bit stupid then because they compare my QFE (pressure at station elevation) against QNH (mean sea level pressure) at Shoreham Airport which isn't really fair. whereas if they compared my Sea Level Pressure against the one at Shoreham Airport it wouldn't be as bad.

Re: cwop altimeter bogus reading
Regarding the CWOP barometer readings - on the website for my station, it shows lower Pressure readings than what I actually had. Is Cumulus sending the pressure from my station, which is corrected to Mean Sea Level already, and then CWOP making a further correction? Regards Callum http://weather.gl...

Re: Comparing Pressure with Met Office Observations
Weather stations should always be set to Mean Sea Level pressure. Any website such as the one mentioned previously which uses METAR reports (airport weather reports) would be fine - just a case of finding the nearest Airport and perhaps waiting for a day when there is high pressure and not much wind...

Re: Barometric Pressure - Imperfect Science?
Oh right - you will find SYNOP stations all over the world, but if your location is Sahuarita, AZ, I think your nearest SYNOP station is Tucson Airport which is number 72274. If you use http://www.ogimet.com and click SYNOP reports, then type in 72274, you will get all the SYNOP reports for the day....

Re: Barometric Pressure - Imperfect Science?
I calibrated mine to the nearest SYNOP station (03876 - Shoreham Airport) which gives you the pressure to the nearest tenth of a millibar (e.g. 1031.3 mb). You can also look at surrounding SYNOP stations and roughly work out what the pressure should be where you are. Basically, I on a day when there...

Anomalies
I had some strange anomalies today as you can see on my website. All the figures suddenly change at about 11:00 (the same time I turned off the PC) and level off for the rest of the afternoon until I turn the PC on again in the afternoon (after 18:00). I also had a freak gust of wind recorded at 18:...

Re: Weather Station
Thanks - I'm just looking for ideas really.
Does anyone keep paper records (like a logbook) or some form of electronic record of observations made using their own weather station and do they make observations which include weather and visibility for example at 9:00 every day?

Weather Station
Hello
Does anyone on here keep paper based records or some form of electronic records (outside of Cumulus) for their daily observations?
I was also wondering if anyone keeps a Metadata file about their weather station.
Regards
Callum

Re: RealTime.txt
Thanks - I have found the data I have been looking for in the Virtual store (which I didn't know existed until now) and have installed Cumulus in the location C:\Cumulus\. I now have the dubug.log and Realtimeftplog.txt but I can't see anything obviously wrong. All I can think of is it must be somet...

I'm not sure if that is whether it is causing the RealTime.txt not to work though.

Re: RealTime.txt
Maybe it's because I'm not running it as administrator or because I have installed it in the program files folder? Hi Callum Certainly installing it in the Program Files folder in Vista is a big no no. It causes all sorts of issues, especially if you are not running in an admin account. (Vista and ...

Re: RealTime.txt
Yes, it looks like the "under review" was a red herring. If you turn on ftp log and debug log, the realtimelog.txt and debug.log files may have something to say about it. I have turned on Debug Log and FTP Logging but do not have a file called "realtimelog.txt" and the debug.log...
