Re: Problem with degrees symbol

I’m pretty sure the utf-8 processing works, because the standard templates use utf-8. Perhaps there’s a problem with utf-8 for extra files - assuming of course that your input file is OK. When I next have my laptop out I’ll have a look. But note that ° as you quoted above is a valid HTML en...

Re: Problem with degrees symbol

You may need to restart MX to get the 'utf=8' setting to take effect.

Re: Intermitant Extreme Hi Wind Reading

It's a common problem with Fine Offset stations. You can use the 'spike removal' settings on the calibration screen to get Cumulus to try to ignore such spikes. Read the help for that screen to see how to use it.

Re: "So far" day rainfall out of step with hourly totals

I think this is similar to your other recent query. Cumulus maintains a list of readings for the last hour, adding a new one each minute and deleting those which are older than an hour ago. It determines the rainfall in the last hour from the difference between the rain counter in the first entry in...

I’ll have a look at the code when I next have my laptop out.

Re: Instructions: Installing CumulusMX on Raspberry Pi

You can download using the IP address and port number in the Cumulus settings, and you will need to set a “disconnect period” so that Cumulus disconnects once a minute to allow the logger to upload to weatherlink.com. You will need to experiment with the timing of the disconnect so that enough time ...

Re: Not Posting on Twitter

As mentioned earlier in this thread, Cumulus can no longer obtain the tokens to allow it to post to Twitter, since Twitter changed their interface yet again.

2018-05-25 17:00:00.282 System.IO.IOException: The process cannot access the file 'C:\Cumulus\web\record.htm' because it is being used by another process.

Something was preventing Cumulus using that file.

Re: Cumulus MX base OS and set-up advice

It shouldn’t matter what hardware you use or what version of Linux, as long as you can install the required packages, and connect your station to it.

A Raspberry Pi running Raspbian (Wheezy, I think) was what I used for testing MX on Linux, and for runnng my own weather station until it closed.

Re: Cumulus MX base OS and set-up advice

The system requirements are in the announcement post which contains the download file. For Linux, you need libudev0 and a suitable version of Mono. The version of Linux you use is up to you, as long as you can also install the required packages. This may not be straightforward, as libudev0 may not b...

Re: Running MX as a second Cumulus on same computer

There’s a communication problem between Cumulus and the logger, Cumulus frequently isn’t getting any response, and it looks like the connection eventually fails, hence the crash.

Re: Behaviour of "today" tags at the end of the day

I don’t propose to change that behaviour (if I ever do any more development) as I believe it’s correct (any actions will be just after 0900 so a new day has already started). However, I do agree with you that being able to use the figures before they are reset would be useful. One of the enhancement...

Re: Solar Radiation Constantly Maxed Out?

The MX interface is completely user editable. So if there are items being displayed for sensors which you don’t actually have (which I think is what you’re saying), you can edit the files in the interface directory so that they aren’t displayed. Or, if you don’t feel able to do that, you can just ig...

Re: Running MX as a second Cumulus on same computer

In the TCP/IP settings, you need the TCP port that the logger is using, not the Cumulus interface port.
