Re: CumulusMX backend crashes if weather station's USB is unplugged

It’s unlikely that I’ll ever do any changes to the MX user interface. One of the reasons for doing it the way it’s done (using HTML and JavaScript) is that it can be modified and tailored without any changes from me. I will however look at adding items to the API if they are not already there, to fa...

Re: FTP upload error

You are using http://www.wansteadweather.co.uk for the ftp (host) server name, which does not resolve to the ip address in your provider’s information. They have told you to use ftp.wansteadweather.co.uk, which does resolve to that address. I don’t know whether http://www.wansteadweather.co.uk shoul...

Re: CumulusMX error

I can’t look at your diags files myself at the moment (away from home in the motorhome). But you can easily look yourself and see if there is an error message at the appropriate time. I suspect that MX isn’t actually involved and your problem is in your system somewhere. The file you mention is your...

Re: Cumulus connecting to remote site on the internet?

If you have uploads to those sites configured, then those are the most likely candidates (in particular WU and WOW). Uploads to WU, PWS, and WOW all use port 80. The obvious way to find out is to turn off uploads to those sites one at a time.

The username in that picture is not the one you are trying to use according to your previous screenshot.

Sorry, no idea unless there is something relevant in the MXdiags file at that time.

Re: Add Extra Temp Value to Interface Page

Shouldn’t need to do that conversion, as it can be used in json format in this case. It’s simply the call to get the data using the URL that’s needed, and I just can’t remember how it’s done - probably uses ajax.

Re: Add Extra Temp Value to Interface Page

I don’t have my laptop with me so can’t easily look at the interface code to remind myself how it does it, but if you have a look at the javascript for the dashboard page, for example, you’ll see how it calls MX to get the json for its page into a variable.

Re: USB stop responding

I think Steve has done quite enough. Enjoy your new home and retirement Steve! Thanks, Simon. Some people, having been found out for what they are, seem determined to confirm it. I thought he said he wasn't going to be posting again anyway? Currently sitting in the sun on a vineyard in the Val de L...

Re: FTP upload error

The ftplog.txt file is in the Cumulus installation folder once you have turned on ftp logging. It might have more information but it looks like your ftp settings are incorrect.

Re: FTP upload error

If you turn on ftp logging, the ftplog.txt file should have further information to help resolve the problem.

Re: USB stop responding

In response to a 'history available' packet, Cumulus sends a 'DA' ("request historic data") packet, which is supposed to make the station send the history packet - according to the unofficial spec that I used to write the code - https://www.bashewa.com/wmr200-protocol.php It's not immediat...

Re: Add Extra Temp Value to Interface Page

I think that if you have the above string in a variable called str, and you have an HTML span called extratemp, then the following javascript will do what you want: var jsonData = JSON.parse(str); document.getElementById("extratemp").textContent=Math.trunc(jsonData.data[0][1]); You can pro...
