Re: Minus number for Temperature
Hmmm. I guess no-one else with the Fine Offset station has had below zero temperatures yet. It's probably a simple coding error, I'll check once my PC is back up and running.

Re: Upload Problems With Cumulus
That's good - the build I pointed you at was one I did for Kevin to try before my PC died, he was having a similar problem. If anyone else has a similar problem let me know and you can try this version.

Re: 1.8.1
I don't understand where your temp min and max are wrong? Website? Cumulus display? By how much do they differ from what you think are the correct values, and where did you get those values from? The missing log entries are a mystery. Cumulus has a 1-minute timer, and every time it expires it checks...

Re: Problems with Windows2000/Cumulus1.8.XX
I've just realised I've clearly missed the fact it works OK on Windows 2000 with 1.7.x! (Must install one of those 'slap head' emoticons). As far as I can remember, I'm driving the station in exactly the same way in 1.8.x as in 1.7.x, ignoring the fact that 1.8.x uses the history data. There must be...

Re: Installing v.1.8.1 over previous versions
Thanks, I'll look at it as soon as I can. I think I have changed the order that I do things at startup and caused this problem. It's timing-related, so that explains the varying number of errors.

Re: Problems with Windows2000/Cumulus1.8.XX
Yes, someone else with a Fine Offset station is having the same problem with Windows 2000. It's a USB problem. For some reason the USB data doesn't come back in the same way with Windows 2000 as it does with XP. With XP, when Cumulus asks for a block of data from the station, it always gets two lots...

Re: Startup problem
I was sitting on the ferry this afternoon coming back from doing the shopping, and I suddenly realised what this problem is - it's in the code I changed which calculates the rain rate, so yes, you're right. I changed the code so it takes the rainfall in each logger entry and divides by the 'interval...

Re: Installing v.1.8.1 over previous versions
I'll need a bit more of it than that - not that I can do anything about it at the moment with my dead PC.
I'll try to find the forum settings that are stopping .txt attachments.

Re: Changing from Metric to Imperial ???
Regarding the poor siting of official sites, I understand that some of the UK Met Office are "dubiously" situated too.

Re: Cumulus PHP-GD Banner
I've been meaning to ask you - I tried to use my banner on another forum, and it said php wasn't allowed for images. Is there a way around this?

Re: Installing v.1.8.1 over previous versions
Is this section just for new users ? - I added in my running total for this year from my stand alone Met Office Gauge and it just added it to the VP2 total, ended up with 1400mm which was quite exciting for a moment. I take it this isnt an area where you can make daily/monthly corrections. I have t...

Re: Changing from Metric to Imperial ???
Yes, we've had this discussion, and I explained why it is like it is. With hindsight, I wouldn't have done it like this. The first version of Cumulus didn't even have an option for selecting the units, it used the units I wanted to use, and that was it! But I think if someone wants true accuracy and...

Startup problem
It seems a number of you are having the same problem at startup. Unfortunately I can't do anything about it at the moment (I can't even look to see what the problem is, let alone fix it), so please bear with me. I don't need any more reports of the problem, so if you are getting a crash at startup w...
