Re: Post your Averages & Extremes for 2011 here!

Michael, Thanks for the history and photos. Those are certainly impressive storms not dissimilar to some I experienced in South Africa back in March. With depressions rolling in off the North Atlantic and high pressure cells invading from the nearby European mainland Britain is certainly at the cros...

Re: Setting table column width problem

Sounds like you have plenty to keep you out of mischief Raymondo! I have a project of my own but only after retirement. I want to learn how to build and interrogate a SQLLite database so I can provide loads of stats on my website. That's where my Access knowledge should come in useful. That should k...

Re: Post your Averages & Extremes for 2011 here!

Keep in mind he is The Top End (read v.close to Darwin) so virtually equatorial (is it or just tropical?) - they don;t normally get much of a variation in pressure - summer it tends to stay around the 1006-1009 mb reading all the time and the reading of 992 corresponded to a low of 963 at Darwin Ai...

Re: Wunderground Catch Up / Vue / Cumulus

This is one reason I always have WeatherLink running as well as Cumulus. It contains a module which allows you to upload data for a chosen period. I have to temporarily shutdown Cumulus when I do this. You will also need VirtualVP to allow you to run more than one weather program. Although I don't u...

I recorded 43mph later this morning so that's reasonably respectable compared to the airport's open spaces.

Mark's 80+ gust is clearly an abberation.

It hasn't been called Ringway for at least 10 years! Manchester International is the fancy new name.

Re: The trouble with Fine Offsets is...

Mark,

Highest I recorded was 39mph around 7:45 as the cold front came through. I imagine the wind in Wilmslow wouldn't be hugely different. What did the airport record?

If you want to check any of your thermometers against my station you're more than welcome.

Re: Post your Averages & Extremes for 2011 here!

Looking through the various stats the one that jumped out for me was the tiny range of barometric pressure from Michael in Oz. Only 26 millibars for the entire year!! Do you not suffer from cyclones or other low pressure areas? And whilst I appreciate intense high pressure needs cold air 1017 seems ...

Impressive warm front in the depths of winter

Although not as dramatic as cold fronts a warm front can be quite impressive sometimes. The sun set around 1600 today and you'd expect the temperature to drop given it's mid-winter. But as this front moved eastwards over the UK it brought some very mild air after dark. A 5-6C rise in temperature in ...

Re: metoffice weather widget's

Firstly, have you noticed your pages haven't been updated since 09:31 this morning? You need to sort that out first. As I thought it's the same script as I use. Different location obviously and maybe you want different styles / options. Do I take it your knowledge of HTML is pretty limited? If so y...

Re: metoffice weather widget's

Iv'e got the script how do i incorparate it into my cumulus website ??? thanx. Assuming we're talking about the same script (map of UK with 5 day forecast) they provide the code that you paste into a webpage. I added a separate table below the standard Cumulus one. Here is my code. <table width=100...
