Re: Cumulus MX on OSX issues

I suspect that Safari has helpfully unzipped the file for you. So you need to navigate to that folder in the terminal. Might be better to move it rather than leave it on the desktop.

Re: CumulusMX error

Something has happened on your system, Cumulus thinks you only started using it today. You have no data logs. I'm afraid I can't say more than that.

Re: CumulusMX error

If you zip up the mx diags folder and attach it, I'll take a look. There may be something in there which helps.

Re: CumulusMX error

Is it possible that your system settings have changed? In particular something like the decimal separator?

Re: Need to identify web template in use

Forgive me for asking what seems to me to be an obvious question, but why do the owners of the web site not know what they are using on their web site?

Re: Notice for those using MX and making some MySQL changes

It's because it initialises the objects for the 'custom' sql operations without checking that 'enabled' is set, which it does for the 'non custom' ones. I'm not sure why I didn't put the check in, but presumably the component code throws an exception if an invalid port number is supplied.

Re: Cumulus MX on OSX issues

You have to unzip the file, and you have to change to the directory containing the unzipped contents (using the cd command), otherwise the system has no idea where to find the Cumulus executable.

Re: Cumulus MX on OSX issues

This isn't a Cumulus issue, this is presumably a lack of experience on your part with using a terminal window? I'm afraid I can't be a lot of help as it's a long time since I owned a Mac and I can't remember exactly what I did. First of all, where did you put the CumulusMXDist3043.zip file, and how ...

Re: Problems

Yes, the connection between Cumulus and the Davis logger is being lost for some reason. Unfortunately, MX does not currently recover from this.

Re: Problems

The connection to the station is being disconnected (for whatever reason), and MX does not currently cater for this. You say this happens when you close down, but there's no indication in the log that you had initiated a close down?

Re: Rain discrepancy in log and uploads

Probably too late now (so you'll need to edit dayfile.txt if you didn't correct the figure yesterday), but you should set it to the correct value for today, and then restart after the next log entry has been written. Cumulus will then recalculate the annual total. It doesn't matter that the station ...

Re: Rain discrepancy in log and uploads

It's not clear why it restarted, if you didn't do it yourself. Prior to the restart, the annual rain total as reported by the station had reached 459.2: 06/08/2018 13:30:01.135 : Writing today.ini, LastUpdateTime = 06/08/2018 1:30:00 PM raindaystart = 447.399993896484 rain counter = 459.200012207031...

Re: Rain discrepancy in log and uploads

Looking at your rainfall graph, today's total did go up to just under 11.8 but then went back to zero, so it looks like the counter apparently reset (or did something else unexpected) and Cumulus tried to cater for that - the diags file will confirm. You can use the today's rain editor to correct it...

Re: Rain discrepancy in log and uploads

The diags file should show anything unusual happening with the rainfall counter.

Re: MX with Instromet questions

The station doesn't supply solar radiation values, it supplies sunshine hours.
