Re: CumulusMX error

I can't see anything different between your run from last week and the runs from today, so I can't say why you can't see anything on the web interface. Different browser, perhaps? Are there any errors in the browser's developer console?

Re: Cumulus MX on Ubuntu 18.04

Have you actually installed the mono-complete package, as in the MX installation instructions? And step 2 on the page that you linked to, says that installing mono-complete should cover most cases of 'assembly not found' errors? If you have installed mono-complete, then I'm afraid I have no other su...

Re: today's rain: how to correct?

Actually, perhaps you could change it while Cumulus is running - if you could get your script to do the calls on the MX user interface which are invoked by the rain editor facility. If you want to try, you could look at the data exchange between the browser and MX using the developer console in the ...

Re: today's rain: how to correct?

You can't change it externally while Cumulus is running. And I don't know how you would work out what to change it to before Cumulus has run. The information is held in today.ini, so that's easy to change - the description of the file and how the rainfall counters work is in the wiki. Knowing what t...

Re: CumulusMX error

You seem to be concatenating the diags files into a single file, and they're in reverse chronological order or something. Makes them very difficult to look at! There only seem to be files from today. I wanted to look at older files and compare them with the recent ones, to see what has changed regar...

Re: CumulusMX error

Sorry, I can't extract the files from that archive on my PC. But from that message, it looks like your system settings have changed, i.e. you are now running under a different locale with different settings, so existing data formats aren't recognised.

Re: CumulusMX error

If you zip up the MXdiags folder and attach it to a reply, I'll take a look.

Re: Google map message on website

Looks good from here. I noticed it was pointing to the wrong place (for me) before but didn't say anything as I thought you were still testing before putting in your actual location!

Re: Google map message on website

I'm pretty sure that isn't a Google site, it's another free generator site like the other one you were using. There seem to be a large number of these sites, and I'm wondering what's in it for them. There's a link to a German site called 'pureblack' in there, who are web site developers, so presumab...

Re: Google map message on website

The trouble with the Cumulus user map is that it's way out of date - it uses an obsolete version of the Google API. So it really needs reworking anyway. Maybe I'll have a go using leaflet.js, had a quick look and it looks pretty good. As I understand it, it's very easy to switch between mapping prov...

Re: Google map message on website

Looks like everyone now pays, but you get $200 free credit every month. Haven't yet worked out what you get for that (despite having looked at a table which supposedly explains it!).

Re: Google map message on website

I think Google now require you to obtain an API key - f you click on 'do you own this web site' you get more information. The Cumulus user map has the same issue. Not sure whether it's still free, I have yet to investigate.

Re: Problem downloading win new PC

If it's a completely new installation, it doesn't download 'old' data from the station, it starts recording from the point at which you first run it (as covered in the FAQ). Or perhaps I am misunderstanding what you are saying?

Re: Not Posting on Twitter

If you already have Cumulus configured to upload to a web site, you shouldn't need to do anything else. If you're not already uploading any files, you probably just need to tick 'auto update' so that it actually does some web file processing.
