Re: Local Web Server

Thanks Mark. I'm not exactly sure when Microsoft started calling batch files .cmd (command I presume) but it was some years ago now. Any way I just started adopting that extension for batch files as that seemed to be the new 'standard'. I should have mentioned that ncftpput is the command line modu...

Re: Local Web Server

I get Toolbox to run a copy command every night at 00:10... xcopy "C:\Cumulus\reports\*.txt" c:\<webfolder>\weather\reports\ /y /m This will copy only updated files, so if any are regenerated for some reason, they will be recopied. I never thought of doing it that way, but since I keep To...

Yes, but I enclose in a VBS so if I'm working at the time the task runs, I don't see a command window pop up.

How do you handle noaa reports?
Thanks Beau
Not Mark (well, actually that is MY name also, but I digress)...

I handle it on a local server by a scheduled task to copy to the share directory. Works just fine for me. I set it for 12:01am daily.

Re: Windows 8.1 Update and the USB Logger

I hope this helps others. I updated my computer to Windows 8.1 today and the logger stopped working. It turns out that when the update ran it undid all of the USB to Serial adapter settings I had changed. You may have to reapply them if you made any changes from the default COM Port 3 8000 baud set...

Re: CUMULUS 1.9.3 build 1059 DOES NOT WORK WITH WIN 8 PRO

This is the bug I get when I run Cumulus with my old data logs Uh...Steve just gave you why you're having the error. Your Windows regional settings have changed (i.e. different date formats, possibly changed the decimal separator, etc). I would reconcile that before posting this. If you find that i...

Re: bugreport - install

Can I run Weatherlink at the same time as Culumus? You can if you use the VirtualVP program Be careful using it though. I've had problems with it in the past (on the old PC; I just stood up a new system last night) where it would spit -32701 errors 15 to 20 times in a 30 minute period. I would stil...

Re: Running Cumulus on an SSD

This is all good to hear, as I'm about two days from building my new weather PC and it will have a SSD. I do have some extra SATAIII HDs laying around should I need them, but I've been spoiled by boot times with the solid states. :D

Re: Cumulus uploads to weather underground stopped on 27 Aug

'Interesting thread. My issue with WU the last few weeks is a failure to update the webcam photo that is part of my weather station "page" in a timely manner. Has anyone else had this issue? One of their FAQ's talks about their servers getting overloaded and this delaying the posting, but...

Re: Help with Cron Job and ImportCumulusFile script

Thanks, My host allows SSH but I'm not familiar with how to use it. I'll brush up on it. once you get in using SSH, issue the following commands: which wget which php Look at the output of both; they'll likely be something like '/usr/bin/wget' and '/usr/bin/php'. This essentially just lets you know...

Re: Help with Cron Job and ImportCumulusFile script

Thanks again... Are you using a commercial hosting system or self hosting? - Commercial host Is wget available on your web server? (can you SSH onto the server and run the command?) - Ummm not sure. I'm not familiar with this Is the web page you are trying to call on the same server as the cron job...

Every five minutes when it's dark. Which is why sometimes you'll see a sudden jump on your UV meter. At least I do. I have some trees in the eastern horizon that aren't incredibly tall, but I do see a jump directly to 0.5 almost every morning.

Don't expect instant readings. Usually takes around 60 seconds to get a reading from both of those sensors after they're plugged into the ISS.

Re: Davis Vantage Vue Anemometer Sticking

this is the exact reason I put a 20 foot flagpole in the ground for this...so I wouldn't have to scurry up on my roof like I did with the old Honeywell. The flagpole is telescoping and if I have a problem..a visit with a short two step stepladder (otherwise I'd have to take the ISS off the mount I ...
