Re: RaspberryPi Davis Pro 2 USB Port

Also, and just being clear, are you running a Linux distribution on your Pi? I know some are now using Win10 IOT on it. That won't work.

Re: RaspberryPi Davis Pro 2 USB Port

Typically, yes...but you need to make sure once plugged in. It may not always enumerate it to the first.

issue this command at a Pi shell prompt:

ls /dev/ttyUSB*

and see what it returns. After you plug it in of course.

Re: udev rules document for RPI 3

It's actually pretty simple. I've laid out how to do this in the posts. Take the contents of the first code window and put it in a file (I think I called mine checkmx.sh) and make sure to chmod +x that file so it can execute. From the second code window, place that in a file somewhere in the web dir...

Re: Wind spike ignored

It looks like the console was getting the current wind speeds - very low ones, but they are changing, so it is presumably getting new values - but for some reason the console was unable to provide the 10-minute average speed. Could that be due to a resync? I mean it's likely it may have always done...

Re: Wind spike ignored

I know this is a very old post, but I started seeing this happening this morning by chance. I just happened to have debug set in the logging and got this: 2016-12-14 08:56:10.787 !!! loop data not received 2016-12-14 08:56:10.988 Sending command LPS 2 1 - pass 1 2016-12-14 08:56:11.488 Wait for ACK ...

I wonder how many Companies have had their products tainted by a pathetic MS app called Defender.

Any company using a free consumer tool for security deserves to have their products tainted.

Re: dashborad without info/data

Dashboard with no info could also be browser issues. Clear cache/cookies usually fixes it for me. Happens more often than I'd like but it's simple enough to correct.

Re: station loss link with sensors..

This is the update post I made to include the script I'm using currently and explanation. It uses the DataStopped tag, but as Steve said, using any other tag should work in theory as long as you change the PATTERN variable to what you're looking for to invoke the wanted action. http://sandaysoft.com...

Re: udev rules document for RPI 3

As a followup to this after seeing someone needed something similar in a more recent post, I will post the script I'm using (based on using Steve's recommendation to use the webtag to ascertain connection status): #!/bin/bash cd /var/log || exit LOG=datatag.txt PATTERN=DataStopped=1 if grep -q $PATT...

Re: Restore backup on Raspberry PI

You might read my thread - I was able to create a cron job to read a file made every five minutes to check if data had stopped. I did it a different way initially but the final solution was much more graceful. Had an issue earlier this month that tested it and it worked. I also installed an MTA and ...

Re: udev rules document for RPI 3

As a followup, Steve's suggestion with the webtag worked..I had a bit of wind yesterday, and as I live in an older part of my city, it sometimes has some power bumps. The cronjob did its duty in reading the file properly and restarting CMX when an issue arose. Had it happen at least five times yeste...

I never thought of that Steve but obviously it is a good idea. Thanks.

Would work easier probably since it is strictly a 0/1 boolean value.

Re: udev rules document for RPI 3

Update. For the first time since I posted the original, I had this happen (USB disconnected and data stopped, then reassignment to a different port). However, I did figure out how to restart CMX when this happens by using a cron job every x minutes (use the log interval for X so you don't lose data)...

Re: Show All High Charts Instead Of A Selection

I am confused, because it works fine on my iPhone 6. Sure it works fine on it. But it looks awful (small font, as was alluded to). What was being alluded to is that it is not optimized for mobile viewing. It's not being said you can't see it. A poor user experience on a mobile site will likely keep...
