Re: dashborad without info/data

Dashboard with no info could also be browser issues. Clear cache/cookies usually fixes it for me. Happens more often than I'd like but it's simple enough to correct.

Re: station loss link with sensors..

This is the update post I made to include the script I'm using currently and explanation. It uses the DataStopped tag, but as Steve said, using any other tag should work in theory as long as you change the PATTERN variable to what you're looking for to invoke the wanted action. http://sandaysoft.com...

Re: udev rules document for RPI 3

As a followup to this after seeing someone needed something similar in a more recent post, I will post the script I'm using (based on using Steve's recommendation to use the webtag to ascertain connection status): #!/bin/bash cd /var/log || exit LOG=datatag.txt PATTERN=DataStopped=1 if grep -q $PATT...

Re: Restore backup on Raspberry PI

You might read my thread - I was able to create a cron job to read a file made every five minutes to check if data had stopped. I did it a different way initially but the final solution was much more graceful. Had an issue earlier this month that tested it and it worked. I also installed an MTA and ...

Re: udev rules document for RPI 3

As a followup, Steve's suggestion with the webtag worked..I had a bit of wind yesterday, and as I live in an older part of my city, it sometimes has some power bumps. The cronjob did its duty in reading the file properly and restarting CMX when an issue arose. Had it happen at least five times yeste...

steve wrote:Another way to detect data stopped would be to get MX to process a file locally containing the <#DataStopped> web tag.

I never thought of that Steve but obviously it is a good idea. Thanks.

Would work easier probably since it is strictly a 0/1 boolean value.

Re: udev rules document for RPI 3

Update. For the first time since I posted the original, I had this happen (USB disconnected and data stopped, then reassignment to a different port). However, I did figure out how to restart CMX when this happens by using a cron job every x minutes (use the log interval for X so you don't lose data)...

Re: Show All High Charts Instead Of A Selection

I am confused, because it works fine on my iPhone 6. Sure it works fine on it. But it looks awful (small font, as was alluded to). What was being alluded to is that it is not optimized for mobile viewing. It's not being said you can't see it. A poor user experience on a mobile site will likely keep...

Re: Show All High Charts Instead Of A Selection

It's not optimised for mobile devices though. All that it does, is shrink the site, but text is miniscule so you have to pinch and zoom to read anything. As I mentioned before, I cannot scroll on the trends page as the graphs take up the whole width and focus, so there's no free space to scroll. I ...

Re: Problems with startup

While I like Windows 10, they have now made it so difficult to automatically start a program at boot. I never used to use the Task Scheduler to do this, but before I switched out to the RPI3 I was forced to do it....and in actuality, I wasn't starting it with Task Scheduler...I was starting it with ...

Re: Twitter not updating

I believe that installing Mono 4.0.5 has fixed this for others with the same problem. This is exactly what fixed it for me. You will need to add the Mono 4.0.5 repo into /etc/apt/sources.list then run 'sudo apt-update'. I would advise that you uninstall mono-complete before you upgrade as I had som...

Re: CumulusMX Shutdown

Read the instructions to avoid losing data or other corruption! Eh, I've never had corrupted data, you do know that Ctrl-C is just the Linux equivalent of close in Windows? Ctrl-C works in Windows also. Just because your data hasn't been corrupted doesn't mean it won't happen. I have had it happen.

Re: CumulusMX - RasperryPi - Start|Stop|Restart Script V2.5.3.0

I have Dropbox but the amount of free storage space is limited. I think Google Drive gives 50 GB of storage free as does Microsoft One Drive. Google Drive gives 15gigs free and it's shared between Drive and your email storage. I broke down and spend the 2 dollars a month for 100gb storage. OneDrive...
