Re: 915 MHz Repeater
Hi, In practice the 1 foot (~30 cms) loop will be a lot smaller than the red line shown on the diagram (the LCD and Console are quite large). Right. In a square configuration each side would only be 3.30 inches--so smaller than in my diagram. If the antenna impedance is 50 ohms--and I don't know th...

Re: 915 MHz Repeater
I've been thinking a bit more about this. After seeing the inside of the FO, I think a full wave loop might be a better way to go than the dipole. It would probably be easier to tie one end to ground (earth) and has greater physical receive area than the dipole. At 915 MHz the loop would be 1.09 fee...

Re: 915 MHz Repeater
Hi, it should be at least be a 1/4 wavelength long piece of wire. Alan: Exactly right. Thanks for clarifying what was clearly an unclear statement. :) What I meant by "at least" was that the antenna should ideally be at a minimum a 1/4 wave antenna or another design with greater gain and ...

Re: 915 MHz Repeater
You could build a simple dipole antenna on the receiving side first and see if things improved. I'm not familiar with the FO, but if the antenna is indeed just a piece of wire a resonant dipole would be much better. At 915 MHz each leg of the dipole would be 3.06 inches--let's just call it 3.0 inche...

Re: Run Cumlulus MX via WAN IP?
No not quite. I want to run MX on a remote computer when I am away. Have you tried to connect offsite, i.e. not from your house to the Internet IP address? If you try to connect to the Internet IP from your home network (logically behind the Netgear router/firewall) the firewall will likely interpr...

Re: Run Cumlulus MX via WAN IP?
So, just to clarify, you want to get to the CumulusMX local web control interface via the Internet--the one that is running on your local computer at: http://localhost:8998? Do I have that right? --K Edit: I just looked up what Meteobridge does, so I now take it the above is not what you are trying ...

Re: Run Cumlulus MX via WAN IP?
Hi Kurt, No only trying to run one of the Cumulus programs at a time. Same applies to WeatherLink, not running when I'm trying Cumulus MX. I have a Netgear WNR1000v3 router and have opened up port 22222, the same port that I identify in my MX ini file From an open port net check: Identify Open Port...

Re: Run Cumlulus MX via WAN IP?
What kind of a firewall are you running, glennpm?
And, are you running Cumulus and CumulusMX at the same time or only one at a time?

Re: Cumulus Support for Weathercloud
Hello all. I'm the author of this utility. The program is written in a language called Autoit (https://www.autoitscript.com) which is very good but has the unfortunate problem that many antivirus programs flag programs written in it as viruses (https://www.autoitscript.com/forum/topic/34658-are-my...

Re: view-gauge.js - not edited by Cumulus 1.9.4
Hi: The content of your view-gauge.js file does not seem to change. Have you checked the server permissions on the file to make sure the FTP account you are using to upload the file has rights to overwrite the file? The file permission in Linux on your web server should probably be set to 775: chmod...

Re: Monthly NOAA file name passed by CUTags name is wrong
Must have been. I just checked myself and once midnight passed the file was correctly named. The only thing I had changed was removing the double quotes around the file name and replacing them with single quotes. From this: "NOAAMO"MMyy".txt" to this: 'NOAAMO'MMyy'.txt' Do you th...

Monthly NOAA file name passed by CUTags name is wrong
Hi All: I've spent hours trying to resolve this today, but no joy. Read what seem to be relevant posts here and on the WXForums but still no resolution. I am running Cumulus MX 3.0.0-b3041. I switched from Cumulus 1.9.4.1099 on November 15th. Since then my NOAA reports have not updated. Going to htt...
