Re: How to "read" Wind Rose on Cumulus web page?

I'm not sure I have a strong opinion either way. I'd imagine some purists might, but I'll let them argue their case. :ugeek:

Re: How to "read" Wind Rose on Cumulus web page?

Okay, I think my guesses are mostly correct. The wind rose illustrates the last gust speed and direction as a red line, the last average speed and direction as a green line and the previous 24 hours average speeds and directions as small squares. The wind rose indicates the direction from which the ...

How to "read" Wind Rose on Cumulus web page?

So on the Graphs page there are a few wind-related graphs. The two current speed/direction ones are obvious, and I think I have a decent grasp of the fairly simplistic one (the one that looks a lot like what's on the Cumulus display). But I'm interested in learning a bit more about the more complex ...

Re: Cumulus Banner Collection

That was it, I have your Class-A IP range blocked at the firewall (hacking attempts from your part of the world). I've opened it up and I'll bet it'll work for you now. Thanks for your patience.

Re: Cumulus Banner Collection

Actually, now that I think of it I have a few IP-range blocks on my incoming firewall. If you go to http://www.whatismyip.com and tell me what it returns, I'll check that.

Re: Cumulus Banner Collection

Oh, you *will* get a security warning from the https link, since it's a self-signed site. You can just click through the warning for now.

Re: Cumulus Banner Collection

Okay, something else to try: https://bpsmicro.dyndns.org/Weather/

That's using the standard SSL secure port. If *that* works we know you're blocked from getting at the non-standard port. If it doesn't, I'm totally stumped.

Re: Cumulus Banner Collection

Do you have Javascript disabled perchance? If so, no .NET page will work for you (they end in .aspx), and might explain why the redirection didn't work.

Re: Cumulus Banner Collection

Okay, the actual "page" at weather.bpsmicro.com is indeed a redirect page that sends you to http://bpsmicro.dyndns.org:81/Weather which *is* working. Not really sure why the redirection isn't working for you. I changed my banner to put the direct link instead of the redirected link. That m...

Re: Cumulus Banner Collection

Because of ISP limitations, I have to run my "home" server on a non-standard port (Port 81). I can see my banner (and from work, I just checked), but some people may have non-standard ports blocked. That's be the most likely explanation. If you go to http://weather.bpsmicro.com, you'll get...

Re: Cumulus Banner Collection

Had to follow three separate sets of instructions on how to set up PHP5 on IIS on my Win2003 server before I finally found the one that actually works.

If I have it right, my banner should be below (I'll figure out the TT fonts a bit later)...

Re: Troubleshooting WUnderground non-upload

WinProxy's log shows nothing, not even the attempt. I guess it only logs successful connections. Fat lot of good that does us.

Re: Troubleshooting WUnderground non-upload

I wonder if, when pasting the URL into IE and sending that way, IE itself is reformatting to more strictly follow the spec, which is why it seems to work that way. WinProxy has it's own (albeit crappy) logging. I'll turn that on and see if it yields any clues. But the stuff you posted sure *seems* l...

Re: Troubleshooting WUnderground non-upload

Hard to say. The Proxy is actually on the gateway machine that drives my entire network. I poked through the settings there to see if I could spot anything awry, but it's really mostly for connection sharing across the LAN. *Everything* goes through it, and it's not really something I can bypass wit...
