Re: v1.8.0

Thanks - I can reproduce that with the wind direction graph (same with the small one). TgT - is it the wind direction graph that causes you the problem?

Re: v1.8.0

Yes, first clickling on small one then on big one click+down/right to zoom in I'd forgotten it did that :) and it crashes. Works fine for me, on a Vista machine and an XP machine. Do you get a 'bug report' dialog? Could you send me the bug report (you'll have to save it then email it to me - steve@...

Re: Two issues with 1.8.0

I'll try again: Yes, Cumulus adds lines to dayfile.txt as it find records that cross midnight as it process the data from the logger. Perhaps your VP2 is giving duplicate or out of order records... Do you have a backup of your data folder from yesterday? Stop Cumulus, restore the data, and edit Cumu...

Re: v1.8.0

Also the wind average points are the same as wind direction points after restart of the program. Reading wrong line from logs? Assuming you have a Fine Offset type station, it only stores one wind direction in the logger, so Cumulus simply displays that one twice. It could work out an average as it...

Re: Realtime not working

Stopping and starting Cumulus has got it working now.... thanks Steve. It looks like that's a bug. It doesn't appear to start the timer until the restart. As an aside should I see a window open when it downloads the data from the logger, or does that happen under the covers? You should see a messag...

Re: Realtime not working

Very odd. Have you tried stopping Cumulus and starting it again? If that doesn't work, could you turn on the debug log, run for 5 minutes then send me the debug.log file, please?

Re: Realtime not working

Probably nothing - its probably just not working :) There should be a permanent ftp connection - can you do a netstat or whatever and see if it's there? I assume the 'normal' ftp is working OK? Is the realtime.txt file being generated on your PC? It's a bit tricky to diagnose as I don't yet have muc...

Re: 1.18.0 won't collect data

I've now replaced the version here with the fixed version. If anyone has already downloaded it and is having similar problems, pleased download it again. Multiple copies of the same or different versions should be OK running simultaneously on different ports with VirtualVP or similar. Not that I've ...

Re: 1.18.0 won't collect data

I think the problem is with new installs. Unbelievably, I didn't test that case :(

I've sent you a link to a hopefully fixed version to try.

Re: How to connect?

The best method is to use direct mode and not run Easyweather at all. The only configuration needed is to tick the 'Fine Offset' box. If this doesn't work, stop Cumulus, edit the Cumulus.ini file, and add a line in the [Station] section: Logging = 1 Run Cumulus, wait 5 minutes, then send me (to stev...

Re: Cumulus 2 suggestions

I think it would have to be the virtual serial port approach. Cumulus doesn't talk to the VP2 directly, it uses the Davis DLL from their SDK. When I first got my VP2 and added support for it to Cumulus, I found the SDK on the Davis web site and assumed this was the best way to do it. I soon learned ...

Re: Cumulus 2 suggestions

Is the protocol for the TCP/IP mode of connection available? I can't see it on the Davis site.

Announcing the FAQ and Issue Tracker

There is now a Cumulus FAQ (in progress) - http://trac.sandaysoft.com/wiki/FAQ and an issue tracking system - http://trac.sandaysoft.com/ which I would like everyone to use from now on to request enhancements and report bugs. You will need to register before you can submit new 'tickets' (this is not...
