Re: Webservers
Not sure a GUI is needed to run on a Raspberry Pi as they are usually run headless. I've got one on the way and will be trying other weather software - all I want it to do is gather data and upload a file containing the values to a website, and on the website the templates are PHP rather than HTML a...

Re: Barometer Decimal Places
So is there any hack for "Cumulus.ini" to display thousandths if inHg and hundredths if hPa if using a Fine Offset station? No; Fine Offset stations supply pressure in hPa to 1 decimal place. What about inHg? It is going out to 13 decimal places. That will be what happens converting hPa t...

Spare parts
The wind blew my WH1081 over and the 'thing' that goes round for wind speed got broken. Can I get a spare from anywhere or do I have to bite the bullet and buy a new weather station? If that's the case, any suggestions for a cheap & cheerful one?

Re: Small bugs in gaugesT.htm
It was? It was showing what the code was, and what it should be. I can't see how that is cryptic in any way. It also said how I found the errors.

Re: Small bugs in gaugesT.htm
The 'xmlns' attribute is invalid in HTML 4.01, isn't it? And "http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" is the default anyway in XHTML, so it's never required. Not that I know a lot about this. Steve, the 'xmlns' is standard for XHTML 1.0 Transitional or XHTML 1.0 Strict. And I think the '<html xmlns...

Re: Small bugs in gaugesT.htm
My point was that the headers are different between the different template files.

Pressure
OK, if I've read it right I need to set my weather station to send relative pressure, and I need to adjust that to take account of my altitude. However, despite lots of Googling, I can't find the amount to adjust by! For flying we use 30' per mb, but I know that's rather approximate. What value shou...

Re: Wiki Article on Cumulus websites -- need info...
Having each page in a category would help so long as there was an easy-to-find list of categories! (of course there might be some disagreement which category some pages should be in...) An index would help, but building it means having a list of all pages in the Wiki. In fact having an obvious link ...

Re: Wiki Article on Cumulus websites -- need info...
I mostly use FileZilla. I have WS_FTP but find FileZilla is more powerful. My site is hosted by uklinux.net, but I wouldn't particularly advocate them for a newbie - they don't offer any support and can be hit and miss about renewing domans and invoicing. It's pure sloth that I haven't changed from ...

Re: HTML Editor
Is there a free HTML editor which does not change the webtag brackets used by Cumulus? Unless you have a tiny screen, Notepad++ in one window with the WC3 in another work well for me. I do have a more sophisticated HTML editor I like very much, but it's no longer available. Do run your pages throug...

That also makes it pretty conclusive that their website is a pile of p**.steve wrote:that's pretty conclusive that they don't support .txt files.

Re: real time wind gauge dates not working?
I can't see why it would object to .txt files: http://www.jabry.com/Support/ Which file types are not allowed? Files with the following extensions are not supported on our servers: .exe, .cmd, .bat, .dll, and .scr. These files will automatically and without notice be removed if they are found in you...
