Had a new all-time record for Wind Gust of 65.5kmh at 1235 today. It's settled down at lot this afternoon and is running as a gentle breeze now.

“It's snowing still," said Eeyore gloomily.
"So it is."
"And freezing."
"Is it?"
"Yes," said Eeyore. "However," he said, brightening up a little, "we haven't had an earthquake lately.”

Hi,

It's been an "interesting" period over Christmas! Had a couple of real gales, not quite at the peak of a couple of years back but close. Highest gust was 98kph.
Attached is a graphic taken from an small environmental data logger I keep in the stevenson screen as a back up to the main station.

In the couple of hours before midnight on the 26th the pressure was falling around -5mb per hour. That's the fastest I've seen, not only that the pressure (at the station) was measured at 954mb also an all time record for me. The data logger is corrected for sea level so it's a few mb up.

All the best for 2014.
Cheers,
Bill.
