Snow

Post by WoodburyMan »

Current NOAA reports put my area to get close to 30 inches (76cm) of snow between now and 24 hours from now Tuesday night. They just closed down the state and issues a travel ban for anyone other than emergency vehicles.

Major Nor'Easter storm.

The last time we had this much snow was Feb 2013, measured around 36 inches. Prior to that it was 1978.

Some pictures from 2013... I will have pictures of today's blizzard once it stops about 16 hours from now.

Well, it's about 5 AM here in SE Massachusetts, and I just checked out the back door.....NOT going out the back door, it won't open because of a 3 foot drift right against it. I'm going to guess that we have about a foot of snow(at least) and it's not done ......yet. At least we still have power, but who knows for how long.

As of 5:30 am (EST), we have approx. 14 inches of snow here in eastern Massachusetts. An accurate measurement is difficult due to drifting, so the 14 inches represents an average.

Thanks! If you look at the car long enough you might recognize it ;) US import of a VE Commodore.

My area in North West Connecticut only got 8 inches out of it all said and done. Just a typical storm. 20 miles east, near the center of the state, they got 18 inches. Go another 30mi or so east and you're in the 24 inch territory. Then up near the Rhode Island and Massachusetts area in North East Connecticut they got 36 inches or so. A few miles makes all the difference. None the less they issues travel bans for the entire state and I enjoyed a nice day working from home.
